I have reverted these edits now. It is not clear what the intention was but clearly the execution was problematic. An edit of this magnitude should potentially also be discussed with the community in advance; I am doubtful that the community would agree to the blanket merging of POIs with their containing buildings.

Sagen wir mal so: 200m entfernt von der Insel ist eine Gaststätte namens "Zum Storchennest". Wenn ich da reingehen würde und fragen "Entschuldigung, wo ist denn die Rehot Insel", würden die dann sagen "gleich hier vorn" oder würden die sagen "äh was für 'ne Insel"?

Can you specifiy the source for this detailed knowledge of the university? Are you a local with first-hand knowledge or have you taken this from some web site or campus plan?

es geht um den Namen "Rehot Insel", den Du bereits vor einem Jahr verwendet hast, der aber dann von anderen angezweifelt wurde. Angeblich kommt der Name aus einem Spiel? Siehe die Disksussion hier: changeset/69191161

Der Name wurde dann gelöscht, aber vor zwei Monaten in diesem Changeset von Dir erneut eingetragen, Quelle angeblich "local knowledge". Kannst Du dieses "Local knowledge" etwas genauer ausführen und den Vorwurf entkräften, es handele sich um einen erdachten Namen aus einem Spiel?

Dear osm_saint-louis, a changeset in which you delete 100 buildings needs a better description than the name of the city this happens in. Please explain to your fellow mappers why you saw the need to delete existing buildings. I am not saying you cannot do it - just that if you do it, it deserves an explanation.

Dear user Peterborough GIS, it appears that you have performed a major data import here. Were you aware of the existing rules that govern data imports in OpenStreetMap (osm.wiki/Import/Guidelines) which mandate, among other things, proper documentation of your plans and a discussion with the community before the import is executed? If yes, could you point me to a public record of this discussion? I am worried about the fact that no source is specifed, and I notice that you have deleted many buildings that existed in the region before. I would like to know what process you applied to decide which buildings to delete, and how to ensure that you were not accidentally deleting something worth keeping. I am a member of OSM's Data Working group tasked with enforcing our data import rules.

Hallo Max, ich verstehe Dein Interesse an früherer Bahn-Infrastruktur, aber Gleise, von denen nichts mehr übrig ist, mappen wir nicht in OpenStreetMap. (Die waren vor Jahren schon mal drin und sind dann gelöscht worden...) Der richtige Ort für solche Information aus der Vergangenheit wäre die "OpenHistoricalMap".
