Changeset When Comment

Dear Linze G Roku, please observe the data import guidelines osm.wiki/Import if you are importing data from third parties. This means you have to discuss your import with the community before so that the suitability of the data license and your import process and be verified.

Dear robinmeyer94, please perform any testing on the "dev" API and on on the main database. It appears that the edits you have performed will seriously impact the editability of the region by other mappers, therefore I will revert them.

Dear Oliver Farník, thank you for using a good changeset comment on this changeset; all your previous changesets had useless word salad ("dgfdg" etc.) in the comment field. Because several users have complained about that, and about the fact that you have added non-existent roads to OSM, I have reverted your previous edits. In the future, please always use good changeset comments like you did here, and do not add roads to OSM that are not there (or just being planned).

not funny - reverted

To elaborate on the automated message above: It appears that you have deleted a lot of streams that were at some point imported from the NHD. many of these are marked as "intermittent" i.e. they will not necessarily carry water. Please only delete them if you are a local and you can vouch for there not being any stream, at no time of the year. "I don't see water on the aerial image here" is not enough reason to delete such a stream.

Also, to avoid questions in the future, be sure to use good changeset comments that explain what you did. Had you, instead of labelling your changeset "Williams OR" which is pointless since we already know where it is, used a description like "removed streams where I am sure there isn't any water, ever" then we wouldn't have to wonder whether you knew what you were doing ;)

Dear PowerMapper77, I see that after the above was pointed out to you, you have continued to import substations without following the import process. I have therefore deleted all substations that you have imported. Please discuss the matter on the community forum and give other community members the chance to chime in on your plans - what data source are you planning to use, how exactly will you be populating OSM tags from that source, how will you deal with duplicates, etc.etc; then if there's community buy-in you may commence with your import.

I recognize some work, including manual corrections, has already gone into this but I don't think that you've got everything right, most specifically the "name" tag which you seem to have not been populating correctly. The work you have already done could be salvaged (by reverting my deletion in changeset/179243989) but only *after* you have properly followed the import guidelines.

User Rafał Plewa has now again removed the "funeral_directors" tag form this building. The mapper who has originally added "funeral_directors" has not participated in the discussion.

You are asking us to respect your work but you seem unwilling to respect ours. In response to your previous edit, I pointed you to a long wiki page that explains in detail how we deal with unsanctioned trails (see changeset/179092371) - this has also generated an email message to the email address you used when registering. There are numerous ways to address your concerns, but violating our terms by committing vandalism against our database is not one of them. If you delete this trail again, we will have to suspend your account.

Deletions appear legit, previous building traces were rubbish

Deletion reverted. Please see osm.wiki/Why_can%27t_I_delete_this_trail%3F for an explanation. If the trail is unmaintained but does exist then it needs to remain on the map; any dangers or other characteristics should be recorded in a suitable fashion.

Data imports into OSM should be discussed with the community before they commence, see osm.wiki/Import - I am not sure if some of the decisions taken in this import are good, for example that there are two bus stoms named "Baza Sportiva 1" and "Baza Sportiva 2" on opposite sides of the road. Also, just because a GTFS file is public on a web site that does not automatically mean it can be redistributed!

Dear rip_notkods123, please provide better changeset comments than just "."! Also, consider using the "q" key in your map editor to help you make your buildings square if they are square in reality.

You may also want to make sure the already-existing house numbers are moved to the building they belong to, rather than sitting in the middle of two buildings!

Hello Yaw That and welcome to OSM. In this changeset you have not only added new buildings, you have also deleted a lot of old ones. The next time you do that, please make sure this is reflected in your changeset comment (e.g. "added new buildings; deleted buildings that were not visible on imagery"). If you encounter *lots* of spurious buildings then it can also make sense to do some research and try to find out based on what sources the were added (in this case, apparently a project identifying itself as "#hotosm-project-2707 #missingmaps #redcross #mapgive") and double-check if your sources are newer (in this case the building data you deleted was 8 years old so likely outdated indeed).

Also, when you add buildings that intersect with other existing features, think about if the situation might warrant correction. You have added the building way/1482114700 which lies partly in, partly outside the residential area way/1333771581 - maybe this would have been an opportunity to extend the residential area polygon.
