If you want to add a country to the address, it should be done as documented in addr:=**
"country=" is an invalid tag.
However, due to the nature of OSM's database and inheritance properties of objects, explicitly specifying a country really unnecessary since it's trivial to see that this node is located within the perimeter of US.

Yes, relations are rather nuanced feature of OSM. Sometimes it makes sense to use them and sometimes it's just as informative and easier to parse if features are left as is. (not saying that's the case here, but in general)

There's also footway=traffic_island

According to crossing:island=*

That is correct. On the NW corner of FWA and W169 they are grey/blue.
But also on the SE corner of FWA and W170 they are bright red.

Such information is important for the navigation apps for visually impaired people. Accurate tags of those tactile plates helps people with low/no vision better orient themselves.

Please don't "experiment" on the live OSM map. It is used by thousands of data consumers and it is inappropriate to perform test edits there.
If you want to practice, buried in Vespuci's settings you can change it to point to sandbox OSM server rather than the live one.
