This user is not familiar with this area. They are just editing it so that "labels" show up in Upland.

Hello.
There are 2 issues with this edit.
First is that "name=*" tag should not be used as a description. This aspect is documented at osm.wiki/Names#Names_are_not_for_descriptions

Second issue is that "amenity=food_sharing" is not an accepted OSM tag yet. According to osm.wiki/Proposed_features/food_sharing this tag is still in a proposal state. As such you shouldn't use it since its syntax might change..

Hello.
It appears that every single one of the nodes that you created have incorrect names. They are called "Service Area", not "Rest Area".
Could you please elaborate on why did you name them differently?

Hello uplander.
As you've been instructed in the past, it is inappropriate to tag the whole building as a business if that business occupies only a part of it.
As such this and your consecutive edits will be reverted.
If you continue to ignore OSM rules your account will be referred to DWG.

You are shitnitpicking on what I said. You know perfectly well what I meant when I said tracks. And I said that many times before. Too many of the features you mapped HAVE NO TRACES left in the world world and impossible to confirm. It is 100% imaginary mapping by you.

As everybody can clearly see from the available satellite imagery, a ton of features that you added have no traces whatsoever in the real world, therefore can not be mapped. Give me a screenshot that shows any remaining traces of 432647217.

The fact that some map can not function properly without these non-existing features means there's a problem with THAT map that needs to be fixed. Not add non-existing features back to OSM.

123215313

You are insisting on mapping features THAT DO NOT EXIST IN THE REAL WORLD. That is outright wrong for OSM and is not allowed.
In this changeset you created many railroad tracks that DO NOT EXIST at all! They might have existed in the past, but not anymore. There are no traces left of them whatsoever! Yet you insist that some form of combination of tags somehow makes it acceptable to have NON-EXISTING features on the map. No!
Tags are intended describe map features from the real world. These tracks DO NOT EXIST and no combination of tags will make them appear in the real world or satellite imagery.

Hello.
Could you please elaborate what are you editing here? "updated tags" is not really descriptive comment

Ok, why don't we map every single building that has ever existed during humanity's existence and just tag them as abandoned/razed. That sure will make the map very useful. 🙄🤦
If you want map features from the past, that's what OHM is for. Not OSM
I haven't answered your "main" question because "it is used very usefully" is not a proper English phrase and I have no idea what you mean and what you are asking.

Drawing railways which DO NOT EXIST is incorrect information and tagging for renderer. They might have existed in the past, but not any more. OSM is about the way the world is NOW, not in the past. If all traces of that rail is gone and doesn't exist in the real world, it doesn't belong on OSM.

As documented in osm.wiki/Names#Names_are_not_for_descriptions the name tag should not be used as a description.
Additionally, looking at man_made=water_works "man_made=water_works" doesn't seem like an appropriate tag for this situation.
manhole=* sounds like a better match.

You are doing great job figuring things out. 👍🙂

If you have Android phone, you could also install StreetComplete or Every Door apps to help fill in missing details while on-the-go. There's also Vespucci, which is more like iD for Android.

iOS also has Every Door and Go Map!! is like iD.
Using these apps right on the spot might be easier than trying to remember what you saw out there and go home to map later. 🙂

If you know other details like address, phone number, biz hours, website for this place, that would be useful. 👍

Rather than deleting and re-drawing, it's generally best to modify/update existing feature. This way you are preserving history of that object if there's ever need to reference back to it. 👍

These trees are already mapped as separate nodes. Mapping them also as a tree row way would be double-mapping and go against osm.wiki/One_feature,_one_OSM_element

Should this be a park or perhaps place=square be more appropriate here? place=square
Or "highway=pedestrian" + "area=yes" highway=pedestrian

You tagged both of these ways as having 8 lanes each(16 lanes total). On satellite imagery I counted 10 lanes. Map renderers that support displaying lanes will have this area showing a total mess. So either each lane needs to be mapped as a separate way or there should be only 1 way with the correct number for "lanes=" tag.
