I have requested help cleaning up this import in a thread on the community forum: https://community.openstreetmap.org/t/help-with-cleaning-up-import-in-sarnia/141866

Oops, incomplete. Continued in changeset/179004555 and I also added commented with reasoning there
Hey Nate, FYI I set lanes on Dundas back to 4 in changeset/179004555, see comments there for reasoning
I recall I discussed this topic with Nate on Slack when he did the change here (changeset/138518599) and on Queen. Sorry I don't have a link handy as I'm no longer on Slack. As I recall, the best we agreed to was that there was no clear consensus on how to tag it. It appears there still isn't (see e.g. the forum discussion linked in the `source` tag here). But tagging lanes=4 in these cases is at least consistent within Toronto (this stretch of Dundas was the only such road in Toronto tagged lanes=2 currently).

Hi FahRadler, your changes are being discussed in the thread https://community.openstreetmap.org/t/nouveaux-imports-reseau-hydrographique-du-canada-canvec-et-source-possiblement-ia/141778 Could you tell us what is the source of the data you have added? The scale of the uploads make it rather unlikely to have been traced by hand.

Hey Chris, just a heads up that setting access=no and bicycle=yes like you did on the Gordie Howe Bridge MUP (way/1213883004) results in it being tagged as open to cyclists (because the more specific bicycle tag overrides the access=no tag). In this case it's not a big problem because the access ways at the end of the bridge are still tagged bicycle=no so the bridge won't be used for routing currently, but something to keep in mind for the future!
The bridge is not open. Corrected access tags in changeset/178750466
Whoops, I swapped the contents of 171 and 158 relations by accident... I cloned the 171 relation, and then edited the wrong one to create the 158. Sorry! I don't think it's actually worth it to undo, but sorry.

Thank you, I have made the necessary corrections in changeset/178211908

| 177897225 | Hello #Uber, There are no sidewalks along Lake Shore Boulevard West other than what is already mapped. Please do not map narrow paved verges as sidewalks. They are not designed as sidewalks and not safe as sidewalks. Here is what the road looks like now. The verge is covered with half a metre of snow. Can you see the sidewalks that you added? https://commons.wikimedia.org/wiki/File:Lake_Shore_Boulevard_West_west_of_Ontario_Drive,_looking_east,_February_2026_01.jpg

FWIW, I looked at Bruce Trail website to see if I could figure out the intended trail routing in here, but the full maps require payment, and I couldn't see any detail in the preview maps.

Hi, Do you know what is the meaning of trunk=1 and trunk=2 tags? It hasn't been used in OSM before and I would like to document it
| 176869174 | We have a government that is very pro-car. They publicized tree-clearing and survey drilling contracts for planned highways:
If they actually begun building the actual highway, we'd be hearing about it for days. They haven't... |
"It should begin in 2026" means that it hasn't yet begun, correct?
Hello, Roads should be set to highway=construction once construction has begun. Has construction begun? I have not seen any news about this, latest I could see is a tree clearing contract in late 2024. Can you share a link or a picture of the construction?
The other alternative would be to tag motorway_link to the last spot where not going on the freeway is possible, but that is all the way up at Bloor/Drumsnab (if you get on the ramp at Bloor, you _are_ going on the freeway, there's no other way except for the blocked-off service ways). That was tagged in the past, but removed by jamaps in 2020, I don't feel strongly enough to restore that

Hello, Please do not add legal descriptions as laneway names in Toronto. See osm.wiki/Toronto#Laneways
