Hi, `highway=footway` does not mean that cycling is banned. You can add `bicycle=yes` if you want to be explicit.

You've been tagging a lot of paths as `bicycle=designated`. This should only be used for paths that explicitly signposted as a "Shared Path" or a "Cycleway". You might want to read bicycle=designated. An unsignposted, very narrow path probably isn't worthy of `bicycle=designated`. Especially since some of the ones you've updated have barriers to prevent/deter cycling

Hi, thanks for your edits! Some minor comments: You added a slip lane at the corner of Bentley Ave/Glenfield Road - this slip lane was removed recently. The default satellite imagery is often out of date since it's from 2017. You can change the background to "MAXAR Premium Imagery" which is more blurry but at least from 2021.

also - if you're mapping a foot path alongside a road, it's better to use the more specific preset called "Sidewalk"

strangely, Land Information New Zealand (LINZ) actually has the addresses scattered across the property at this location.

See page 18 of this document https://data.linz.govt.nz/document/12627-street-address-data-dictionary/download/ which describes the effort being made to stack addresses in an organized way.

Since I'm not a local I thought I'd leave it how the government data has defined it (for now)

This changeset was not using OSM as a playground, rather, I merged a big mess of address nodes into a single node (these were created by an import from a few years ago).

I confusingly used the word 'test' in the changeset description because my next task was to check if the LINZ Address Import tool can understand addresses when they are consolidated into a single node.

The LINZ address import is documented here: osm.wiki/Import/New_Zealand_Street_Addresses_(2021)

hi, when you edit addresses could you please keep the "ref:linz:address_id" tag. there is an upcoming project to import new addresses from LINZ, and this tag is used to identify existing data from LINZ in OSM. thanks :)

(btw, don't worry about undoing this, there are 39,204 other addresses missing the ref:linz:address_id)

I've reverted most of the names you added given the history of vandalism in this of this area and the fact that the only source is someone involved in adding dodgy place names. I missed this one when I cleaned up the other vandalized buildings a while ago

Hi, I think what you're trying to achieve is generally done using `sidewalk=separate`, which tells routing engines to ignore this segment of road and use the separately mapped sidewalks (see sidewalk=separate)

`foot=no` probably has the same effect, but I think `sidewalk=separate` is the more idiomatic tag

This is not a motorway. There are no signs that "motorway", there are no 🚳🚷 signs, and it is not restricted access.
