Changeset When Comment
148363658

hey, you requested a review on a few of your edits. My main suggestion would be to write a meaningful comment when you upload your changes. This saves a lot of time for reviewers, and helps everyone to understand what you're trying to do. It's hard to provide feedback if we don't know what your intention is :)

There's some more info on this page: osm.wiki/Good_changeset_comments

Hi, could you please expain why you deleted these suburbs? They seem to be well established names. You may also want to join the discussion at note/2367238

hey, since I didn't hear back from you i've added the path back, but this time with `access=private`

Hi, you probably won't get a response from one of the original import accounts. If you're interested, there's a list of all the discardable tags here: osm.wiki/LINZ/Invented_Tags#Deprecated_Tags

Hi, do you think it would be appropriate to use highway=pedestrian for these roads that are only accessible to pedestrians and private/maintenance vehicles?

hey, have you seen note/4117160 and note/4117153 ? sounds like the new bridge is open

Hi, I've walked past here a few times, the walkway still exists and it is open to the public when the restaurants are closed

maybe we should keep the path but tag it as access=private + foot=permissive?

👍 I've started a wiki page for this idea: osm.wiki/Proposal:Platform_exits

146441451

it took a while but we got there :)

the map is now live on https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sydney_Writers_Walk

Hi, I see *:carriages:* as an equivalent to *:lanes:*, so this tag is supposed to be the equivalent of https://taginfo.osm.org/keys/destination:symbol:lanes:forward

that's also why I chose plural, to match *:lanes:* and avoid confusion with carriage=*

Hi, I created a wiki page which I hope explains what this tag is about: exit:carriages=*

It's the same idea as the nyc "exit stategy" app, which is ranked #27 on the app store so it seems like a lot of people find this idea useful

hey, nice work with all these edits. I've spot-checked a few and everything looks perfect.

I just thought I'd share the database query that I use to find all points that are tagged as "fixme=continue" - you might find it useful too: https://overpass-turbo.eu/s/1H49

Hi, i've reverted this change because OpenStreetMap is a map of the real world. If you want to map fictitious places, check out https://opengeofiction.net, it uses the same tools and editors but you're free to map anything

147035295

Hi, is this a real place? https://moana.fandom.com/wiki/Motuand https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Motunui are not the same place

146818955

no problem, thanks for doing this validation work :)

113308820

sorry, fixed now. It's a bit dumb that seamark tags use "concreted" but normal tags use "concrete"...

146843901

sorry, fixed now. seems to be caused by another bug in iD: https://github.com/openstreetmap/iD/issues/4978

146589172

also not sure about "Unknown route type" - apparently all the light rail routes are invalid because of this unhelpful warning

146589172

It seems like this is a known problem with iD - see https://github.com/openstreetmap/iD/issues/8578 and https://github.com/openstreetmap/iD/issues/8415

I've fixed a number of validation errors including the Canberra Explorer. But I don't understand some of the validator warnings like "platform without proper tags"....

hey just following up on this, I've remove the military tags which are most likely wrong
