Hi, LINZ Aerial Imagery is 7 years out of date. You've deleted many things that have been built since 2017 in your last ~100 or so changesets. Bing Aerial imagery is better, it's about 9 months old in urban auckland.

awesome, thanks

Hi, ref:linz:topo50_id is currently used 86,000 times vs ref:linz:t50_fid is used 0 times - should we be consistent and pick one of the two? I think the former is slightly more descriptive

Hi, if you're going to map sidewalks please connect them to the road network at every crossing.

Otherwise it causes very misleading directions - for example, take a look at this suggesting walking route: osm.org/directions?engine=fossgis_osrm_foot&route=-37.79838%2C175.23689%3B-37.80098%2C175.23742#map=18/-37.80008/175.23717

Hi, these are not tertiary roads. Please see highway=*#Highway for information about the different types of roads in OSM

Hi, are you sure the maximum speed is 65km/h? In New Zealand, there is no such thing as maxspeed=65.

It would either be 60 or 70 (red/white sign). 55/65/75 etc (yellow signs) are maxspeed:advisory

I've deleted the overlapping building and it replaced it with a node representing the business on level 6

Fonterra moved out of this building 6 years ago... reverted.

awesome, thanks for your reply!

Hi, is this newly opened path accessible from the public cycleway, or from the marina, or both?

116687091

Hi, it might be more idiomatic to use "sidewalk=separate" and "foot=use_sidepath" instead of "foot=no".

See osm.wiki/Compulsory_use_of_parallel_way

According to the wiki, foot=no is only meant to be used when there are 🚷 signs

hey, yes that was the source, I didn't realize at the time that you could directly use the LINZ Data Service as background imagery

hey, feel free to change it back if you want to stick with Waka Kotahi's classification. my rationale for trunk was because traffic volumes majorly increased when the expressway opened, since it's become the fastest route between Auckland-wellington

lol... that gantry sign was only installed a few weeks ago 👀 can you or someone else change it back to 1C please? I won't have wifi until next friday

the Horsham Downs Link is not open....

123588337

weird... I've changed it back for now since the actual signs say it's SH 3

123588337

Hi, it seems like the map you linked to is wrong.... The new signage says this section is SH 3, not 1C (see https://youtu.be/hG9YGKTTp1g?t=1532 for example, which is looking south from node/3026976866)

Hi, based on a quick search, this apartment building is called King's Square, while the plaza is called Station Square. Does this sound correct to you?

hey, there are a few useful tricks. The OsmAnd app can take GPS traces which you can import into iD as a layer. A couple of stategic waypoints at each end of a corridor is useful. Next, StreetComplete is one of many apps that can measure the width of a sidewalk or indoor corridor. For DressSmart I found a emergency exit diagram hanging by a fire hose reel - mapwarper.com can stretch and skew a photo so it lines up with the building footprint. After that it's just a lot of walking up and down :) and a bit of guesswork... I know the whole of DressSmart isn't quite aligned properly.

regarding barrier=wall, I'm not sure if it's strictly correct, but the wiki page doesn't mention what to do for indoor spaces 🤷 I saw a bunch of malls in Germany and the USA mapped like this.

(it was super useful back when snapmaps rendered barrier=wall, since you could figure out which end of the mall you & others were in...)
