Changeset When Comment
102841344

In this changeset you have added a secondary road which bears no resemblance to anything visible in aerial imagery.

102841798

In this changeset you have added over overlapping and 400 oddly-shaped buildings in a field in Australia (not Sierra Leone).

102825091

In this changeset you have removed the Chinese name from way/917237315. If such actions are performed by a new user, they smack of nationalist map fiddling which is something we don't like. I can see that the structure is on the Indian-controlled side of the border, but you should have at least copied the Chinese name into name:zh instead of removing it altogether. Please do not use OpenStreetMap to make political statements or claims.

Hello NMYR, can you explain this edit and the source for it?

102815147

Hello, in this changeset and others you made today, you have deleted thousands of objects from OSM, causing a lot of damage to the map. Other mapppers have repaired the damage but please be careful not to do this again! Additionally, your changeset comments should describe in a human-readable form what the aim of your edit is. Your changeset comment of "#gomicron21twsg;#gomicron21tw;#gomicron21twf11meprod" is gibberish that nobody can understand!

Please, when updating lots of names in the future, specify your data source. If you just add a name or two then it might be that you simply know them, but you've added hundreds of name:zh tags, i.e. it is likely that you copied them from somewhere. That "somewhere" should be in your changeset source tag.

Please let me know (at data@osmfoundation.org) when a good change is undone again and we will look into it.

fayor, you see to be engaged in an edit war here about the highway tag. way/401521196/history has gone through four different highway types in the last couple of months. I see a pattern here where you do not discuss edits with other people, you just make them as if you own the map. Don't do that. Seek the discussion, if not in a changeset discussion then on the talk-it mailing list, and arrive at a consensus. You cannot just override everyone else all the time.

Dear user fayor, it appears that you are frequently reverting the contributions of other users, e.g. in this changeset someone had added information about the lack of road markings and cycleways and you simply removed that with a comment of "Correzione modifiche". Don't do that. The edit was not incorrect, it was not necessary of you to "correct" it, and if you believe there was a problem, you should have taken it up in a changeset discussion with the person who made the edit.

I have removed a very offensive comment here. MiejscowościPL, if you continue to add fictional data or spew abuse at those who fix the errors that you introduce, your account will be blocked. (DWG Ticket#2021041110000155)

Dear HaPe-CZ, Frederik from the Data working group here. This is inacceptable. You are responsible for your contributions, not Piskvor. If you contribute a tram line with a 90° angle in it, and someone else makes you aware of the problem, you can either fix the problem or ask for help, but "sorry I won't fix it because of Piskvor" is childish. Either fix this (and stop trolling Piskvor by making bad edits on purpose), or stop editing in OSM altogther. (DWG

With my DWG hat on:

1. User ZeLoneWolf had initially not taken enough care to make sure that his approach isn't used in areas where it was not discussed with the community. This has meanwhile been remedied on the respective wiki page.
2. User Dimitar155 has not used enough care in following random Wiki instructions, has failed to discuss the matter with the relevant community, and at times also tried to disclaim responsibility ("I was just following someone else's orders").
3. User Tomas Straupis has been an absolute dick about this whole issue from the start (and that includes misrepresenting DWG's position on the issue for rhetoric effect on the mailing list). While his indignation is understandable, at no point has he tried to solve the conflict peacefully.

I would like to discuss this matter with the wider Lithuanian community, to avoid giving Tomas' words more weight than they are due. Is there a forum or medium that is not dominated by user Tomas Straupis where I can reach them?

Warum?

Dear akimou choi, when you add data to OSM, please provide a "changeset comment" that is readable for humans, that explains what you've done. The hashtags you have provided instead of a description mean nothing to 99% of humans in OpenStreetMap. See osm.wiki/Good_changeset_comments for more information.
