In the future, I'll stick to updating outdated or incomplete tags such as public transport platforms, etc. In those cases, iD's solutions should be fine, no?

thanks for your comment! Seems like a was falsely feeling certain enough by iD's flagging to use the suggested method to fix the tag.

Before reading your comment, I've done another round of fixing in these changesets:
