Dear Pradeep,
it is great to see so eager and good quality mapping, thank you for that! But I have one technical notice.. Please stop to use only hashtag description for edits. This is contrary to the international conventions which allows hashtags but prefer description of content: osm.wiki/Changeset#Tags_on_changesets and: osm.wiki/Good_changeset_comments

Best regards, Marek

Dear Mapper, plz go in touch with danieldegroot2 . My comments, please stop to use description like
#hotosm-project-10857 #SAKSHAM #NepalYIL #DRRYLF2021 #DigitalaVolunteers #BIPAD

Better to use human like language: Remapping of ways for hotosm-project-10857 in team of Nepali DigitalaVolunteers. Note #SAKSHAM #NepalYIL #DRRYLF2021 #BIPAD

Absolutely yes! Best greetings! Marek

Thank you for fixing of not connected points of boundary. I haven't seen that. Bad thing. Nepal has very unformal definition of boundaries, always based on existing ways or waterways or, in mountains on mountain peeks. Nepal has only very generalized digital map based on old sources from 1995. This means in reality: Map elements are often not existing (not existing ways) or up to 250 m in wrong position. We saw it often during Project Ilam (see Wiki). So, may I invite you to the corrections of boundaries in the sense of the existing law? The information source are employees of Ordnance Survey Kathmandu, namely their Chief Officer and his Vice during our talk with Dr. Nama Budhathoki in Kathmandu.
Even the first boundaries drawn by our german and polish collegues are only the first estimation.

Danke sehr!

Ich kann mich nicht entsinnen diese gelöscht zu haben. Wenn ja, kann man doch mit JOSM undelete durchführen.

Ok Maraf, dzięki za informację.

Akurat ta interpretacja wydaje się być poprawna. Patrz angielska wiki i opis: Cobblestone paving. "Cobblestone" is used in the colloquial meaning here, and therefore includes the type of stones that would more precisely be called "setts".

We have Premium Digital Globe images from last year for whole Nepal. Factors like human variability or seasonality are general for all OSM maps. Only activation of the community AND in this case local authorities, can help with such problems. Let´s talk with local community about.

Absolutely. This matter needs an proposal and discusion of the community.

Hi Frederik,
because of our Lobbying OSM community may use the high resolution gov. images for mapping. Some areas are in common sense already "dead" for active mappers, See Wroclaw or Szczecin. The users add there massively the street areas. There are already 4 renderers they use this tag (Belgium, France, Poland and Russia). Personally I stopped mapping this because Nepal help is more important for me, but the Car industry is using street outlines for high autonomous driving. Best regards, Marek

Thank you Ben! I made some experiments with generalization of areas. Surface of small areas generalized with 1.0 m is up to 5% less. The areas may be used for calculation of productivity of farmers and possibly targeted training for them. I tried 0.3 m, this is great. The problem I sometimes had is the use of fast draw plugIn for JOSM with tablett. Do zou have any experience with this plugIn? I think, we could make together a kind of video tutorial for nepali mappers and explain it. Best, Marek

Hi everybody, KLL wil post information about this Project in the Wiki Project Nepal. Meanwhile I analyzed approach described by bdiscoe. Using generalization factor of 1.0 m we change the areas of smaller Farmlands in forests by up to 5%. I suggest the generalization factor of. 0.3m which make changes by around 1% od smaller areas. The goal of this projest is to achiee a map with whole landuses like:
- Forest
- Scrub
- Farmland
- Residential
- Scree
- Sand
- Water

This can allow the observation of this area and analyzing it.
An example are climatic changes and destruction of forest and water areas.
Calculation of farmers productivity
With other words, an new paradigm of OSM use.
