I don't think the to the metre accuracy for bus stop positions is terribly important. I'm certainly not going to walk all the routes with a GPS to pinpoint them. :-)

But whether a bus stopping position has public_transport=platform as opposed to station (with or without amenity=bus_station) seems to make a difference to map rendering and also to public transport route calculation in such as OsmAnd.

I might be wrong, but it seems that public_transport=platform really is required for anywhere you might get on or off a bus.

Also, even as the docs suggest a "bus station" might be a terminus of multiple routes, I don't think that lone bus stop pole by the roundabout counts as a bus station, even if the binnibus people decided to call it a "base".

On second thoughts, looking further at your edits, it seems you maybe passed through. Thanks for moving the bus stops by a metre or so if that is more accurate.
I suppose the interpretation of a bus stop or a station (terminus) is open, but in this case i'd say it is a bus_stop. there's no station infra, but I don't want to get into edit wars. :-)

Just wondering. among other things in this changeset, you moved a bus stop in oaxaca city by a very small amount, yet given by the areas you are editing around the time, it seems very unlikely you were actually here to verify the position.

You also changed a bus stop to a bus station, where no bus station actually exists. I am currently attempting to map the entire new BinniBus network in Oaxaca. Thanks for editing, but please don't edit where you don't have local knowledge.
