That was not my changset, which created this way with its tags (see hostory: 264540707), I only removed overlapping parts of the way. It seems, this way is just a copy of a single GPS-track with the elle tags on its nodes. I think this ist not the appropriate way of mapping paths and routes in OSM.

Please don't do that. Boundaries are virtual lines with zero width. Highways represent physical objects with none-zero extent and therfore not appropriate for virtual objects.

Yes, I think so, because the name is the name of the route and not the name of any of the member highways.

Highways may be menbers of more than one route. For example the members of "Le SENTIER MESTASHIBO" are members of "Le Sentier National au Québec": https://www.mestachibo.com/. But you won't apply both names (or more) to the member highways, would you? And what's about the real names of members? By the way, route relations are not intende to be members of route relatioen, but you can create relations of type souperroute with other routes as members.

The Fifth Meridian of the Dominion Land Survey ist not a boundary and is not a collection of OSM objects like highways etc. It is defined as the meridian 114° west of Greenwich and needs not to be mapped in OSM.
