I am curious why you classified the paths in the Salem Common as tracks. I haven't been there but in the imagery they look like regular paths

Hi, I am curious how you decided to classify places, because I don't think some of these places fit the definition of a village. Amherst Center for example doesn't fit the wiki definition of a village in my opinion: node/13388820240

Hi, in this changeset you changed the name of the terminal from terminal 2A to terminal 2. I think the correct name is Terminal 2A, because terminal 2 already exists as a relation with this terminal and terminal 2B included in it: relation/8469252
I'm changing it to 2A, but I'm letting you know just so that if I am wrong you can correct me, because I am not from this country.

Hi, I changed it back because roads should not be split into two unless there is a physical barrier separating the road

Ah, that makes sense, thanks!

Hi, I notice you changed one of the roads from a track to a residential road. Read the wiki about what a residential road is: highway=residential
I think this should be changed back to a track.

Hi, a shoulder cycleway means that there is a shoulder on the road that you can bike in (see the wiki for a picture example: cycleway=*), but I don't think there is any shoulder on this road so I removed the cycleway tag you added.
If I am mistaken please let me know and I can revert my changes.

Hi, I am curious why you added the name "Lighthouse Hill Road" to this building: way/1058591316

A different user has added that name to many of the buildings on that road, which seems incorrect to me but I was unsure because you also added that name to a building.

Thanks! I noticed in a lot of your other changesets you were deleting roads and adding new ones, which is deleting the way history in addition to potentially causing problems like this one. Going forward, if possible could you edit existing ways instead of making new ones? Thanks

176163511

Hi,
I think this changeset should be reverted. You deleted this way: way/591277988
and extended a different road to replace it. This is an issue because the piece of road you deleted had tags that are specific to that section of road, such as the width tag and the bike lane tags. That section of road does not have any bike lane according to both bing streetside and the previous tagging, but you have replaced it with a road that says there is a bike lane.

No worries, we all learn as we go!

Hi, thanks for contributing to OSM. UMass Amherst is already mapped, so I deleted the node that you added. Though I updated the existing umass relation with the phone number and social media accounts that you added.

Here is the UMass relation: relation/9361144

Here is a page in the wiki that explains why I removed what you added: osm.wiki/One_feature,_one_OSM_element

Hi, I converted the node you added into an area and labeled it as grass. That should help it show up on the map. I notice that you removed the house number though, if the lawn actually has an address you can add the house number back.

Hi, it looks like something went wrong here because you renamed tons of buildings on this road to "Lighthouse Hill Road" and you also renamed some random road far away to "Lighthouse Hill Road". The road name was later fixed but the building names remain.

Hi, I reverted this changeset because there is no longer a path there. The imagery isn't up to date but there is a new computer science building that just opened this fall that connects to the right side of the old computer science building, so there isn't a path that goes through there anymore.
Last time I checked (probably about 2 weeks ago) there were still some construction fences set up around the building so I hadn't made any edits to the area yet, but sometime next week I'll try to get a rough outline of the building and map out the paths that are currently open.

Hi, you probably know this already, but be careful about mapping stop lines as stop signs because traffic lights often have stop lines too, I noticed you had some stop signs at the intersection of Morgan Rd and Piper Rd

173715973

I think highway=path might have been correct, according to the wiki "Paths kept mainly by people repeatedly walking on them, or those that are only minimally constructed, are usually tagged as highway=path"
highway=footway?uselang=en

Thanks for looking into it
Here is the link to meadow pond, I meant to put it in the first message but had the wrong link copied.

Thanks for the info, that is useful because there were some roads that I was not sure about. Interestingly though, I found two roads that are clearly carved out in L3 Parcels but according to the editor are marked residents only.

I can confirm that Meadow Pond has a residents only sign. I am assuming that legally anyone can go there but idk how they should be tagged.

I forgot to upload previous edits so this changeset also includes street lights at UMass
