I also updated the network tags for several bus routes, and deleted the superfluous numbers in their names.

Your source is a 17-year-old conceptual map from the "Calgary Transportation Plan", developed from the "Plan It Calgary" initiative undertaken by the City about 20 years ago. The Calgary Transportation Plan has since been merged into Volume 3 of the Municipal Development Plan, and said "Road & Street Network Map" was superseded by an updated map in 2020, which itself has been amended five times in the past three years.

I haven't done a detailed review of the changes made here, but as a general warning: don't trust a 17-year-old planning map as a source...

Is this actually the case? All the aerial imagery still shows the path is there, and the development permit drawings for the new house on Baroc Road (https://dmap.calgary.ca/?p=DP2024-07973) still very clearly show the path is outside the houses' property lines. Triple-checking this against the Alberta Spatial Information System, it confirms the path between 5611 and 5607 Buckboard Road is a public right-of-way, while the space between 5704 and 5628 Baroc Road is a separate property.

I presume you are a GEOG 588 student at the UofC? FYI you changed a house and a bus stop to 'parks', and dragged the bus stop about three blocks out of place. Please be mindful of what you're doing; your changes are not just 'tests', they're being saved and uploaded to the OSM database. Gibberish like this has to be cleaned up afterward, which no one appreciates having to do...

Thank you for responding, and for elaborating on the course you're taking. I see other changes have been made by users who've included "GEOG 588" in their changeset summaries; I presume you're all in the same course, taking the same lab.

While your changes may not have been *intended* to be kept, when you clicked the 'save' button on the iD editor it uploaded your changes to the OSM database, and everything you did overwrote what was there before.

Sorry, "4th Street and 1st Ave", not the other way around. Either way, not a real intersection, and the 'virtual' intersection point of those two roads (if they did intersect) is ~250 m south of the park.

Thanks for replying! (And apologies for this belated reply.) It appears the overarching Prince's Island Park way was also appended with this address, probably from the same source. I have no idea why the City website would add this address, but it really isn't valid. As such I'm going to delete it from the OSM data.

Once again, for the same reasons as elaborated on in the comments on your earlier changeset (changeset/178074250) I have reverted almost all of the changes you have made in the past couple days. You are added overlapping road segments, sidewalks, and building areas, which is not only completely unnecessary but something that we as mappers should actively not do.

I am also going to send you a direct message, to bring to your attention that I've been trying to reach out in these changeset comments. In the iD editor you're using on osm.org, you should see a notification in the top right corner of your screen next to your user name. Please read it.

Like changeset/178147660, I also reverted the changes you made in this changeset. When you changed the alleys here from `highway=service` to `highway=path` you accidentally caused errors in the processing of the map data for these alleys. They were originally tagged as `highway=service`, `service=alley` because that's the set of tags we use for such a road behind houses. Changing it `path` broke the `service=alley` tagging, and also changed the default access to these alleys from allowing motor vehicle traffic to *not* allowing motor vehicle traffic, which is definitely not correct. (After all, there are many detached garages at the back of these properties only accessible by car from the alley!)

As I wrote in my changeset comment on your first change, please don't hesitate to ask questions about how to tag things properly.

For your info I actually reverted the change you made here. You added a node to the map for the playground in Mayfair, but it was already on the map, as a more detailed area. As such, the node you added was just a duplicate of stuff that's already on the map, and as mappers we follow a guideline abbreviated "one feature, one OSM element". (osm.wiki/One_feature,_one_OSM_element)

We can see you completed the walkthrough on how to use the iD editor, but you may also find it very helpful to review this beginners' guide: osm.wiki/Beginners%27_guide

For your information I have reverted the changes you've made here, and elsewhere around Lower Mount Royal. You have accidentally added duplicate building ways on top of ones that were already mapped, and have misapplied the `height=*` tag.

`height` is used to tag the actual height of a feature in metres. You added `height=2` to several buildings in about a dozen changesets, which means "the actual height of this building is two metres". I know is not factually true; that would make for very short buildings, given I am almost two metres tall! :P

I suspect you may have meant to tag building levels instead. `building:levels=2` would mean "this building has two levels above grade".

It may also be beneficial as a new mapper for you to read the beginners' guide at osm.wiki/Beginners%27_guide

FYI I just deleted a bunch of `ref` tags from the rooms you added in this changeset (and others?). Not sure if it's something the Indoorhelper plugin is doing, just wanted to give you the heads up.

Eventually I think your indoor mapping should be consolidated with the shop tags that are already on the map; I had added the "room ref numbers" to `addr:unit=*` for many of them already.

May I ask where you found an address for this venue of "4th Street and 1st Avenue SW"? I ask because that's not really a valid address: there is no intersection of 4th and 1st (anymore; there was decades ago), and the 'virtual' intersection point is about 375 metres southeast of here.

Your edits look perfectly fine to me, except a small formatting quibble: postal codes have a space in them. Should be `addr:postcode=T3B 5K1`, instead of `T3B5K1`.
