Hi Pa413,
interestingly this old changeset adding "weight" to the highway has left me trapped in the upper Verdon valley last week as my vehicle has a weight limit of 7.5 t. So Osmand routed over Col d'Allos while the local sign-posting shows this 3.5 t limit. So I just corrected this error to "maxweight=3.5".

Do you know about other "weight" cases in this region?

this is often kind of difficult, as lines get no change in history if you only move a node. There was a talk about this topic at the FOSSGIS conference this year in Germany about this. They are thinking about to change this, but nothing is decided yet.
So you must sometimes search on node level to find the author.
