Ciao Gnastyle, ho visto che hai taggato la chiesa evangelica con denomination "evangelical", e vorrei chiedere conferma, perché probabilmente il valore giusto sarebbe "protestant" (generico) oppure qualcosa di più specifico come "lutheran", etc. Il termine "evangelical" non corrisponde a "evangelico", ma al "evangelicalismo", "evangelica pentecostale". (Non sono sicuro di cosa si tratta in questo caso).

benvenuto in OSM. Ho notato che ti sei inscritto ed hai inserito delle cose, ottimo. Per il giardino condominiale hai utilizzato l'etichetta "landuse=meadow". Questo significa "prato" e viene utilizzato in contesto rurale (agricoltura). Se ti posso suggerire, sarebbe meglio "leisure=garden" insieme al tag "garden:type=residential", così si capisce bene di cosa si tratta.

ti consiglio di aggiungere piccoli blocchi di isolati, senza connettere i poligoni con le strade, in modo da avere "il suolo privato, residenziale" / le abitazioni compresi i giardini e le aree interne, e mettendo i tag "landuse=residential" dove ci sono abitazioni, invece le scuole le lasci fuori e metti amenity=school come poligono (compreso tutte le pertinenze), e similmente per le altre funzioni che non sono abitazioni. Lo stesso anche con landuse=commercial e industrial (se ci sono). In questo modo, ammetto lento, puoi creare con alto livello di dettaglio e allo stesso facile da mantenere, tutto il centro abitato. Invece per i nomi il modo più semplice è mettere un punto / node con place=hamlet/village/town/suburb ecc. al "centro" (dove pensi si trovi il centro), insieme al tag "name". Volendo potresti applicare lo stesso tag anche ad un area, ma non è molto usato e credo che non venga visualizzato attualmente sulla mappa principale.
Esiste anche una mailing list nazionale, talk-it ed una per Roma e Lazio, talk-it-lazio, dove si possono fare domande e ottenere risposte. (Anche un canale Telegram e svariati altri canali ci sono). In passato ci siamo incontrati una volta al mese, ma attualmente per Covid è sospeso.

scusami, se non sei un vandalo allora benvenuto! Abbiamo recentemente avuto un problema con una persona che ha aggiunto qualcosa e cancellato altre cose come foreste, landuse=residential o campi agricoli, sempre usando commenti per le modifiche senza senso/non pertinenti, e ho avuto il sospetto che il tuo utente potrebbe essere la stessa persona (perché hanno bloccato l'altro account).

Ciao gnastyle, ho notato che hai messo "access=customers" al parcheggio angolo Via Genocchi/Colombo. In realtà questo non è il parcheggio del secchio e l'olivaro, e si può parcheggiare chi vuole. Di giorno è a pagamento e viene gestito da Ass.ta. A.G.A.

anche qui hai cancellato dei percorsi lunghi (tutti parte del confine del parco di Veio).

ci sarà un motivo per la cancellazione di 143 nodi ed un percorso in versione 4 che vorresti spiegare?

con questa modifica sono stati cancellati tutte le tag che descrivevano il parco di Veio, e sono stato sostituiti con "suolo ad uso residenziale". E' una modifica apposita o per sbaglio?

Da es keine Einigung gibt, sollte "website" auf jeden Fall erhalten bleiben, das Umtaggen würde ich als halb-automatischen Edit sehen, über den abgestimmt werden muss. Grundsätzlich würde ich es eher anders rum umtaggen, von contact:website nach "website", weil es einfacher ist, "contact" nicht nur keinen Mehrwert bringt, sondern im Fall einer Webseite ggf. sogar falsch ist (wenn die Webseite keine Kontaktmöglichkeit bietet), und weil die Formen ohne "contact:" auch nach vielen Jahren immer noch weiter verbreitet ist.

Nessuna risposta. Rinnovo la richiesta, che senso ha ripetere "A90" due volte e far sparire "GRA", il quale ancora ad oggi si trova nel territorio? Ti chiederei gentilmente di rimettere ref=GRA per il GRA, in quanto questo è la dicitura che si trova sui cartelli.

"Since when does every single edit someone makes need to be discussed before they make it?" - while it would be nice when you actually __remove__ what others have bothered to add, it is not strictly a requirement, I agree. When you actually go out and do several of these removals in different cities, i.e. you act systematically, and when there are open disputes on the tagging question, one should generally refrain from creating facts before the problem is solved mutually. I agree that this issue is somehow minor and on the edge because of the relatively small number of objects (around 20 if I recall correctly?).
In a system like OSM, where tags basically emerge and get approved by people using them, it is toxic to "clean up" things if it is more than just fixing a typo, and when they do not interact with the people who have put the tags.

I also agree that discussing beforehand may not always be practical (many people not responding, would slow down process and require a high level of structure and coordination from the mapper), but what could be done is sending them a short note, so that they can decide to either revert or accept the modifications, and would send you feedback.

Back to healthcare, happy you agree with

the "ground" does not tell you whether amenity or healthcare is more appropriate, and whether one of them must be removed or both could be kept (why not?). Being on the ground means you know the general setting, what is customary, the local culture, language etc., requirements to really participate in a discussion with locals.

This is exactly the issue. You have removed someone else's tag (in several instances, i.e. actively looking for it with some search engine and putting some effort into it), without any discussion, because you personally felt it "was not an amenity" - despite the tag even being documented in the wiki.

To me it is more an amenity than about "healthcare". healthcare by the dictionary is about "efforts made to maintain or restore physical, mental, or emotional well-being especially by trained and licensed professionals", while a hospice is not about maintaining or restoring well-being, it is about accepting that you have to die and about letting go.

I do not say: only map where you are on the ground, although I believe it is the best. I say do not remove tags from objects, without further discussion with the local community, in places which you do not know and where you do not know the community. Adding things from aerial imagery bears some risk (e.g. outdated imagery) but acceptable, while armchair removing and changing objects without actual on the ground knowledge is a no go.
I am not usually mapping things in the US, I have added occasionally some stuff from aerial imagery or fixed some self intersecting polygon, but I surely wouldn't remove tags to replace them with others of which I suppose they were the same. Don't know about Polar Bearing, SomeoneElse or Woodpeck, but I can confirm they are European.

ich habe den engl. Wikieintrag unter key:building repariert und dem Eintrag tag|building|fire_station angepasst. Der building tag ist immer auf Gebäude bezogen und sagt nie etwas darüber aus, wer das Gebäude aktuell nutzt. Eine ehemalige Feuerwache erhält denselben building tag wie eine in Betrieb befindliche, weil building kein tag ist, mit dem eine Feuerwache beschrieben werden kann. Dafür gibt es amenity=fire_station (auf dem gesamten Areal, alternativ und vorläufig auch einfach als Punkt (node)).

Btw: the tag has almost zero uses because you and others have removed them in the past months. By the time you removed it, there were still much more than there are now.
You are right that we could just add the tag back, but we are having this discussion here because you are a very active mapper and as I think there are some misconceptions I believe it is more effective to solve the issues at the root by raising awareness.
