Also lanes according to lanes=* is marked lanes, there are no lanes marked here so I'm not sure lanes=2 is appropriate, see osm.wiki/Talk:Key:lanes

How can you tell surface:grade from the the aerial imagery?

61837372

Yeah I agree that the name of the way should be as signposted. I've restored node/3537363017 using the tag place=highway_interchange.

61816703

I've migrated all the existing tags across from node/267333870/history into the new way.

61837372

Part of the problem may be highway=motorway_junction isn't intended to be used to map interchanges, generally the whole system of offrams/onramps where two major roads connect are an interchange and in this case it's a named interchange like node/2130503373 or node/2130503470 At the end of the day we need to somehow say there is an interchange here and it's known by this name.

Putting the name on the way makes it a regular street name and makes it hard for someone who wants to identify all the named interchanges.

61837372

It seems from the previous editors that this is indeed a named interchange if you delete node/3537363017 how is the interchange and name retained in OSM?

61761761

According to the GNR "Providential Head" was the old name, I've also added natural=cape

61761877

I think it's better to use natural=bay, which the wiki says is "An area of water mostly surrounded by land but with level connection to the ocean or a lake." It's a well documented and widely used tag. The fact that it's identified as a cove is present from the name.

is this change from a survey of the area? so you can no longer turn right from Gannons Rd to Captain Cook Drive?

adding the source to the changeset would be most helpful.

Looking at the history of way/219863544/history highway=pedestrian "is a road or an area mainly or exclusively for pedestrians in which some vehicle traffic may be authorized (e.g. emergency, taxi, delivery, ...)" highway=pedestrian

A good example of this is Dixon Street way/3679955

I don't think this pier is designed to take cars, so it should be just highway=footway not highway=pedestrian.

Check out the lifeguard tags emergency=*#Lifeguards and you can use club=surf_life_saving osm.wiki/w/index.php?title=Key:club&uselang=en-AU on some types of surf clubs.

hi there, it looks like you may have accidentally converted this road to a power line. I've changed it back to a road in changeset/61643837

Thanks for confirming! Agreed we should map per the street signs.

61442893

The original mapper has reverted this change as it reportedly doesn't match the street sign on the ground. It's a good idea to check street level image and ask the original mapper about their sources before replacing a name with the LPI Base map.

I think a better changeset comment is "changed street names based on LPI NSW Basemap", as you're not adding missing streetnames, you're replacing existing ones.

Keep in mind the LPI Basemap isn't always correct.

Hi, where did you source the name for this from? Was it a street sign or local knowledge?
