I think you may have been trying to name a lake?

Hi,
Nit picking ...
The sport pitches Way: 722379788 and Way: 722379789 don't look to have any physical existence? leisure=pitch#How_to_map suggest using a node in such situations. I have mapped the 'recreation_ground' that surrounds the area ... maybe more appropriate place to tag the sports .. these probably move around the area anyway.

Reverted to restore Administration Boundaries.

Then node removed from one road section ... but left on the admin boundaries and another road section.

Hi,

Welcome to OSM ... but ...
OSM is not a playground for fantasy, it is a data base used by many mapping applications. Placing gates across a public road is not a joke.

Please map what is there.

Making best use of the facilities. A good thing.

I would not delete the areas as they are still there and can be used for teh sports so should remain.. untill they are not useable.

Done. Good hunting.

Hi,
The 'Canning Vale Oval'... the council web site suggests the "landuse=recreaction_ground" should include the cricket nets, a building 9stadium, change rooms see https://www.canning.wa.gov.au/places-and-events/places-to-play/parks-and-reserves/sports-grounds
I have removed the recreation ground tag from the pitch area and left it out.. not a local so I cannot survey.

Hi,

The rugby/AFL pitch way/299850381 (see way/299850381) does not appear to be AFL shaped oval ... nor have the 4 poles at either end... ? Is it really an AFL pitch?

Hi,
Welcome to OSM.

Some comments?

The OSM guide is 'one feature = one OSM entry'

So for the Dongara Hotel I would map the outside of the hotel grounds - including car parking etc as the Hotel.

In fact you have almost done this exact thing! See way/974696030. The tag building=yes - this implys there is a building over the entire site which is an error. The other error is the layer=-2 ... please use the layer tag to indicate the 'level' above or below ground. In this case layer=0 which is the default so you can leave it off.

I'll leave you to fix the above?

Relation: 13107967 has the same tags as the above way - so it is a duplication of that feature .. one feature = one OMS entry? I have corrected this by removing the duplicated tags, leaving the building tag, then removing the buildings already with the building tag. This leaves the single building with a hole in it for the swimming pool.

-----------------
I have partially reverted your changes to restore 3 administration boundaries of Dongara, Port Denison and Springfield. These boundaries come from a government data base and should not be changed based on imagery information. I don't think that should have any effect on the rest of the changes...

Keep mapping - there is lots to do, don't worry about errors - those can be corrected. My attention was drawn by one of the quality assurance tools that I monitor to pick up my own errors. I am far from local to this area, but do make changes based on imagery outside 'my area'.

It is a minor thing, but helps with other features too - like parks, schools etc.

Hi,
Both these sources are copyright. Do you have permission to use them in OSM?

Added note.
Please wait a while for your changes to take effect on the default map .. it can take some days.

Hi,
The grass area (way number 983550302) has 2 problems;

has areas tagged as trees - in cannot be both tree and grass .. chose one.

the name suggests the area is a reserve ... and it should be tagged as a reserve not a grassland?

See way/983550302#map=17/-37.68420/145.13250

Hi,
Multipolygon outer ways cannot share segments.

In this case I have combined the 2 ways into one simple way. Then transferred the relation tags to the way ... and then deleted the relation.

Hi,

The parking areas don't extend to teh center of footpaths - should be drawn as a separate way.
When added please observe any existing amenity=parking so the feature is not duplicated.

Hi
The Morven recreation ground, .. umm what sort of football is played there? Bit hard to make out from imagery. Rugby?

120023207

Trick...
it was tagged as an outer .. when it should have been an inner (or the other way around) ... I think I fixed that .. just human error.. and we all fall for that from time to time. If you come across it again - check the roles of the connected ways.

117929826

One relation outer way cannot touch an outer way of the same relation. Note - same relation.

I have used a single way as a member in several relations with the role outer, some state borders with council borders and national parks borders .. so at least 5 things all using the same way. Within any of those relations no outer way shares a node or segment with another way in that relation - other than where ways join together to make a single boundary.

That help? Might make things more confusing - apologies if so.

Hi,
Only one 'landuse=grass in this changeset - relation/13777531/history I don't see any other features here... certainly the individual ways have no tags.

The OSM key 'natural' is not well named! "Used to describes natural physical land features, including ones that have been modified or created by humans." ... so even 'man made' things can use the key 'natural'... See natural=*

Note my inclusion of landcover=grass. I think this is a more logical tag - say what it means without any extra explanation - at least to english speakers.

117187613

Hi,
Why is it necessary to create the landuse=grass? No inner holes in it.
And then it is a large area .. the OSM wiki for landuse=grass says "A smaller area of grass, usually mown and managed."
I have combined the ways into one way, tagged the way natural=grassland and landcover=grass and then deleted the relation.
