I'm afraid probably all of this user's name-related changesets should be reversed. They have either added two names to city name tags or added the Scots Gaelic name to alt_name, neither of which is correct.

"Obar Dheathain" was added as the alt_name for Aberdeen, even though there are many more Scots speakers than Gaelic speakers in the region. Has there been any official legislation change to city names? Besides, this information is already stored in the name:gd tag

This large number of undiscussed changes to name tags is worrying. Surely the precedent is naming cities in the native language in areas where it predominates (e.g. Steòrnabhagh)? Hopefully this mapping isn't motivated by personal beliefs.

Glad to help, here's an example of such tagging: way/1258874282
I don't know of any software that implements the flashing speed limits but it's best to have the default road limit as the actual maxspeed value

Hello,
Thank you for correcting your tagging, although it is still not fully correct. Here is an example of how you should tag linear footway areas: relation/15397258

Hello there,
I noticed you have been mapping linear footways as pedestrian areas en masse. If you want to add the area of a footway you should tag it as area:highway=footway, as area=yes + highway=pedestrian is reserved for pedestrian areas such as squares or plazas. Not only is it incorrect mapping, it also poses problems for routers as they usually plan a route around the edge of the area instead of through the middle as with a simple linear way.

Thank you for this, there was a spree of mapping linear footways as pedestrian areas in Aberdeen, I'm still trying to fix that.

Hello Will,
I was under the impression that the relation was indeed missing a piece since the section I added still has the ref 'CA 2', but it seems I need to do better research, my mistake. Should I revert my changeset and replace the ref with old_ref?
Regards,
Vas

Hello,
The correct way to tag the variable speed limit is maxspeed:conditional=20 mph @ flashing, not the other way around.

Hello there,
Can you provide a source for this landmass?

Hello,
I see you have been tagging footway areas as area=yes + highway=pedestrian. This isn't correct as that combination is for larger, non-linear pedestrian areas such as Castlegate or St Nicholas Square. You should instead tag the area around the already drawn linear footway as area:highway=footway

106922889

However, make sure to not tag it as area=yes + highway=pedestrian as that is for large non-linear pedestrian areas, for example Castlegate

Hello,
You have made a slight mistake here: relation/11296331/history
If you want to map a footway as an area you should draw the line the footway follows and tag it highway=footway as usual, then draw the area around it and simply tag it as area:highway=footway.
