I can see how the steps being visually mapped might help in that case but due to the complexity of implementing a solution and the limited application I doubt a solution will be implemented.

Please also remove YouTube videos telling people to add fake features. osm.wiki/Vandalism osm.wiki/Problematic_mapping/golf

1. these steps are not a barrier
2. there is no tagging established for mapping stairs in this manner, if you think these need to be mapped you can start a discussion on the wiki.
3. (My opinion) I don't think steps should be mapped except as part of the way when a way goes up or down the steps.

Please figure out a different way to add features to your tgc program without adding fake features to the OSM live map.
