Very Probable name as Hedge Lane would only run 500m from Pikehall if it didn't extend beyond Mouldridge Lane. Hedge Lane would have been the most level and direct route to from Pikehall & Gotham to Aldwark (and maybe Brassington/ Longcliffe)
