Some passes are high points as the trail goes across a ridgeline. This one is from Olizane maps.

Understood Heinz_V. If the name tag is left empty will the hamlets been visible on a standard OSM basemap?

The "unknown" hamlets/villages/dwellings are verified either in field while hiking or satellite map. I gave them name=Unknown so that they would be visible on the map. Any other suggestion to keep them visible?

Thanks for the useful input. Location was determined based on the 2014 edition of the Olizane maps of Ladakh. Will go through Latombe's blog and identify the correct pass location
