If these buildings are under construction, they should be tagged as such.
Also when you are mapping features that supposed to have right angles, you can right-click on such a feature and select "Make Square". Doing that not only makes your mapping look neater, but also aligns the feature closer to the real world.

But also if this is now a pet food store, you can just directly tag it as such.

Sidewalk sheds/scaffolding is obviously a different color, but it's clearly visible, goes along foot paths and separate from the sections of the building you removed.
