Hi Andy,

Probably a good discussion to have by email, mine beingjmcgurk@nts.org.ukand I'll copy in a colleague too.
And I'd better clarify, the comment that they said they didn't think it was their responsibility is very much me paraphrasing and possibly putting in stronger terms a sense I got from the response, rather than something explicitly said.

Hi Andy and thanks for your comments.

I'll open a discussion on that forum.

When you mention that paths could show up in hiking apps designed for regular tourists, unfortunately that's already happening even with the "demanding alpine hiking" tags, which is why I made these edits - no matter what the tags or difficulty or information provided, everything marked as being accessible by foot seems to be showing up looking like a regular footpath on apps, including some challenging scrambles and some bits of steep open hillside with no trampled line visible. That's why I made these changes - I heard back from one app saying that they didn't believe it was their responsibility to fix it themselves, and I've met a lot of lost people out of their comfort zone searching for paths where there aren't any as a result. I do think this should be more of an issue with how the apps use the Open Street Map rather than with the map itself, so I'm just trying to find the best solution to the problems.

Cheers,

James.
