Thanks for the feedback. I guessed that layer was meant (I fixed plenty of them yesterday) but did not understand that it is some kind of man_made=pier. The surface=wood tag makes that clearer now.

Ich versuche auch, Wege so zu taggen, dass das Routing möglichst gut funktioniert.
Das Problem dabei ist jedoch, dass es viele verschiedene Routing-Programme gibt und solche Ausnahmefälle werden von jedem Programm anders behandelt.
Manche ignorieren alles, was sie nicht kennen, andere erlauben das Routing durch alles, was nicht eindeutig "keine" Strasse ist. Beide Ansätze funktionieren
umso besser, je weniger verschiedene Strassentypen es gibt.
Ein paar Zahlen:
Vor einem Monat gab es 432 verschiedene highway tags an Wegen,
ungefähr 20 davon wollten ausdrücken,
das der OSM-Weg keine Strasse ist.
Ich habe seither sehr viele Sonderfälle beseitigt, es gibt aber immer noch 127 verschiedene Tags und davon drücken immer noch diverse eine "Nicht-Strasse" aus.
Je mehr Leute sich an einfache Regeln halten, um so eher werden sich auch die Entwickler der Routing-Programme auf eine ähnliche Behandlung einigen können.
Wenn Du vermeiden willst, dass ein Weg fürs Routing benutzt wird, dann dürfte es
sicherer sein, highway=* gar nicht zu verwenden, also z.B. statt dessen
construction:highway=*

Wenn Du ein Routing-Programm bzw. eine Garmin-Karte benutzt, die nicht funktioniert, dann solltest Du die jeweiligen Entwickler kontaktieren.
Entweder ist ein Programmfehler, oder man findet gemeinsam ein besseres Tagging.

2) The ways that describe the "Panama City Beach Parkway" are often tagged
sidewalk=none;right
which makes no sense. I fear the Bing
images are out-aged here, so I don't know which parts have a sidewalk and don't. Do you know the details?

The way starts paved and ends as narrow footway (according to Bing),
so I also don't think that maxspeed=70 is
plausible here. What was meant?

I've noticed that you are often mapping culverts with a node tagged highway=culvert.
This is not often done and a recent discussion on the tagging list
confirmed that the highway and the waterway should not share a node at such a place:

"Avenida Canal Bogota" is mapped with 4 parallel ways, like here:

I think two should be enough in most cases, but Bing images are out-aged and I am not a local.
Do you know more?

I've noticed that you have added the highway=footway attribute to some
addr:interpolation ways.
I think this wasn't a good idea. These
ways do not describe the footway.
They are a work around for areas where the individual house numbers were not yet mapped.
