My work on this project is validating, (in short) meaning, solving issues, correcting mappings. Squaring buildings etc. I never remove POI, or text added to buildings except when they are obvious nonsense, like generic names, hashtags of the mapper etc. I advise you to ask this on the specialized forum like https://community.openstreetmap.org/ Or Slack channel HOTOSM JOSM Best regards
