Hi Calvin, there is another way with similar name way/322104763

Can you check and confirm which is which?

Hi, thanks for mapping. I am sure very few roads have surface=concrete. Based on my local knowledge and publicly available street-imagery those should be surface=asphalt instead. Please be very sure about the buttons you are pressing.

add fuel station instead ;)

Hi NACHINDI _ ABDUL _RAUF, kindly use Esri World Imagery as background for adding new features around here. This is how to change in iD editor https://learnosm.org/en/hot-tips/imagery/#changing-the-background-aerial-imagery

Hi, use highway=residential for this instead. I have update and simplified most of the ways you have added here as highway=footway.

Hi, is TL an abbreviation?

Hi NACHINDI _ ABDUL _RAUF, thanks for mapping and welcome to OpenStreetMap. Please STOP using Bing Maps Aerial imagery for adding new data in this area. Bing is very out-of-date. Kindly use Esri World Imagery or Mapbox Satellite which are much newer here as background.

This is how you can select other background imagery in ID Editor https://learnosm.org/en/hot-tips/imagery/#changing-the-background-aerial-imagery

And a comprehensive introduction to using the iD Editor https://learnosm.org/en/beginner/id-editor/

Hi, Unfortunately that is not how you should be mapping them. Since the limit / extent of these neighborhoods are not clear, adding them as random areas (polygons) is not useful.

Here is what to do, add a node (point) somewhere in the center of neighborhood, select Neighbourhood in ID editor, which adds the tag place=neighbourhood

Please stop using ALL CAPS for names, use Title Case instead. Also change the names of features you have added from ALL CAPS to Title Case eg. Noyem Market instead of NOYEM MARKET.

Hi, what are you trying to map here? Is this supposed to be a suburb or neighborhood?

178873375

Hi ericasmap, building=yes is meant to represent the footprint of buildings, if you are not sure of what you are seeing, it is better not to map. Also remember to right click and select "Square" before saving. Here is a getting started guide for iD Editor https://learnosm.org/en/beginner/id-editor/

Hi Benitoben123, welcome to OpenStreetMap, highway=residential would have been better, highway=road is used for way with unknown classification as stated highway=road

You can see all possible values for the highway key at highway=*

This getting started should also help you in using iD editor https://learnosm.org/en/beginner/introduction/

Hi Fatima, zoom in enough to see existing features. One feature should be represented only one element, either as a node or area but not both. See osm.wiki/One_feature,_one_OSM_element

178769744

Hi Fatima, ways eg. roads, paths should not exist as an island but should be connected to the nearest road. See the possible tags for highway=* highway=*?uselang=en#Roads

Also do not connect roads, paths, to buildings and landuse.

Hi Fatima, you should zoom in enough to see existing features to avoid adding duplicates.

Here is a getting started tutorial for iD Editor https://learnosm.org/en/beginner/id-editor/

Hi Fatima, welcome to OpenStreetMap and thanks for mapping. Use title case and full text for names eg. "Kamgbunli Community 1 Mosque" instead of upper case and abbreviations "KAMGBUNLI, COM. 1 MOSQUE"

Hi Aliu_Paul, thanks for mapping, I have reused this road and reclassified it. Take a look at the various values for highway=* highway=*#Roads

Also a good getting started resource is https://learnosm.org/en/beginner/id-editor/

Hi Mar Mar.
Is this node/10277614125 and the name TEMP REF real?

178729418

Hi NACHINDI _ ABDUL _RAUF, the building=yes is used to represent building footprints. Also zoom in enough to see existing features to avoid adding duplicates.

I have converted your contributions here to landuse=residential

Here is a beginners guide for OpenStreetMap and iD editor https://learnosm.org/en/beginner/

Hello Alex and welcome to OpenStreetMap, first take a look at https://welcome.openstreetmap.org/

Here are some few things to note:
- When using iD editor, you need to zoom in enough to see existing features before adding new ones to avoid add duplicate and overlapping features, an example is the street added here.
- Use tile case for names, that Moretti Street instead of moretti street
- even though the road is under construction it is currently being used as well, therefore using highway=residential would have been more appropriate. Using highway=construction means it is impassable and not used by vehicles.

I have now deleted the duplicate road and added the name the the existing road.

Hi Hay4d, good to see you continue to add street names from Ga West, kindly use Esri World Imagery primary background, it is currently the most suited. Also check it against publicly available GPS traces. To collect GPS traces yourself, a recommended mobile application for Android is OSMTracker osm.wiki/OSMTracker_(Android)
