One of the accepted rules: osm.wiki/One_feature,_one_OSM_element All data users have to abide by the standards & work to them. If there's a problem with their software then you need to contract them. Please correct your errors.

I'm performing GB wide edits to correct all golf features.

112475601	over 4 years ago	Hi iD's validator is incorrect. https://github.com/openstreetmap/iD/issues/8748#issuecomment-940155347 iD doesn't "automatically puts them back". It is a suggestion, which can, and should, be ignored. Unsure what you mean in your second comment. I didn't reverse your changeset, I swapped one tag for another. Any other edits remain.

112422806	over 4 years ago	Hi I'm ahead of you. https://github.com/openstreetmap/iD/issues/8748#issuecomment-940155347 To me, Issue #2013 just highlights that iDs developers misunderstood tagging usage, as landuse=grass has never been used for sport pitches. I believe it's always been a primary tag, not a sub/adjective tag as iD were using it. I'll follow up tomorrow. Please add your own comments if you wish. Sadly this isn't iDs only validator suggestion which oversteps the mark.
