| 65210762 | This should probably be highway=service, service=driveway in this case, since it's a flaglot driveway.
| 65052625 | That landuse=residential would be better tagged as place=neighborhood.
| 65056876 | You're allowed to park in front of the fire station?
| 65056827 | Doesn't look like this has a name; name should only be the name.

| 65032402 | Take it to the mailing list, the comments in the changeset are counter to the majority where these things are discussed. |
| 65042699 | addr:street= must not contain abbrevations. This is an obviously bad edit.

| 64919426 | > There is no difference in the Tisdale immediately north vs. immediately south of the Apache St interchange. If I get on the Tisdale heading south from 36th St, the Apache interchange means nothing to me. The jump in road quality (and speed limit, for that matter) happens immediately after the Gilcrease intersection, so that's where the classification change should be. I disagree. Freeways (motorways) do not have at grade intersections. Trunks are very nearly freeways in that they can. |
| 64919426 | > I-93 through Franconia Notch (a super two) is in OSM as a motorway. Ditto the super two section of MA 2 and the UNDIVIDED super-two section of NY 85. So no, motorways do NOT have to be dual carriageways. I'd say those are tagged incorrectly. |
| 64919426 | > There is nothing saying it cannot other than your opinion. And established usage before NE2 Smashtagging. > By your logic, I-10 and I-40 should have significant sections marked as "trunk" Selective choice of edge case there. > and I-90 should switch to "trunk" west of I-5 in Seattle. motorway_link would make more sense in that case. |
| 64919426 | No, motorways do not have at grade intersections, nor are they single carriageway. By the same logic you're suggesting, a lot of single carriageway in California and Washington are motorway because those states call all expressways and freeways as motorway and neither state should have anything tagged as trunk at all. Good thing we're going with what's on the ground and not what the DOT calls it. |
| 64965322 | Should be West Reno Avenue, not W Reno Ave, but other than that, seems to look good.
| 64919426 | Given that we do have a distinction between freeways (which are fully controlled, grade seperarated and at least two carriageways) and expressways (which are semi-controlled, dual carriageway and may contain a mix of at-grade and grade-seperated crossings and possibly driveways; or single carriageway and grade separated), does it not make sense to have this same distinction with trunk and motorway? I'm honestly not sure when this got so muddied so many people are dogpiling on this changeset now. |
| 64919426 | That would make it a motorway with an at-grade intersection. Motorways have NO at-grade intersections. |
| 64919426 | @Duke87: The at grade junction makes it not a motorway. I would prefer it to be from the last major (like with a numbered route) junction on a consistency basis, as it's not reasonable to expect at-grade cross-traffic on a motorway by definition. That said, I believe we've come to an overall agreement that Apache is a good place to split. @cl94: Sure, if you want to go with NE2's torquing of the motorway and trunk tags that we've spent the last several years trying to clean up. @baveggies9999: No, I'm saying these weren't classified well to start with, whether they got imported from low quality TIGER data or NE2 smash-tagging the entire continent at once on multiple occasions before we had good tools to monitor for such editing. Going purely by the precedent set by low quality data and vandalism isn't exactly the best precedent available. |
| 64919426 | 184: No, that's motorway. US 26 past the end of 184? Trunk. 115: Trunk. 587: Trunk. Yes, we should be using uniform standards. Motorways are fully grade seperated and dual carriageway between major junctions. Trunks may have a mix or terminate at-grade. |
| 64919426 | motorways do not have at-grade intersections, trunks do. |
| 64919426 | Though an argument could be made that 705 should be a trunk north of 509 given that if you try to drive any of that highway like it's a motorway, you're gonna end up in the harbor. |
