There are obstacles at the corners of the instersection that make it impractical to cross the street closer to the intersection

And people often do. It reflects that fact and helps pedestrian navigation apps take that into consideration

Teraz widzę, że to jest jakieś przejście podziemne (layer -1). Nie widziałem go z poziomu ulicy i mogły mi umknąć wejścia do tego przejścia (chociaż przechodziłem tamtędy kilkanaście razy)

Lots of address interpolation lines were converted to pedestrian footpaths here, was this intentional? Even though they are not connected to each other and ton't correspond to actual footpaths...
