strangely, Land Information New Zealand (LINZ) actually has the addresses scattered across the property at this location.

See page 18 of this document https://data.linz.govt.nz/document/12627-street-address-data-dictionary/download/ which describes the effort being made to stack addresses in an organized way.

Since I'm not a local I thought I'd leave it how the government data has defined it (for now)

Hi Pascal,

This changeset was not using OSM as a playground, rather, I merged a big mess of address nodes into a single node (these were created by an import from a few years ago).

I confusingly used the word 'test' in the changeset description because my next task was to check if the LINZ Address Import tool can understand addresses when they are consolidated into a single node.

The LINZ address import is documented here: osm.wiki/Import/New_Zealand_Street_Addresses_(2021)

Hi, thanks for the contribution!

You've tagged the covid testing station as natural=heath, which is a type of grass (see natural=heath)

for a covid19 testing station, you should replace natural=heath with:

healthcare=sample_collection
healthcare:speciality=covid19
temporary=yes
website=https://covid19.govt.nz

looks good :)

hi, when you edit addresses could you please keep the "ref:linz:address_id" tag. there is an upcoming project to import new addresses from LINZ, and this tag is used to identify existing data from LINZ in OSM. thanks :)

(btw, don't worry about undoing this, there are 39,204 other addresses missing the ref:linz:address_id)

Your name is 'Wyatt Burrows'. So I don't believe that this library is called the 'Wyatt Burrows Library'

I've reverted most of the names you added given the history of vandalism in this of this area and the fact that the only source is someone involved in adding dodgy place names. I missed this one when I cleaned up the other vandalized buildings a while ago

Hi, I think what you're trying to achieve is generally done using `sidewalk=separate`, which tells routing engines to ignore this segment of road and use the separately mapped sidewalks (see sidewalk=separate)

`foot=no` probably has the same effect, but I think `sidewalk=separate` is the more idiomatic tag

This is not a motorway. There are no signs that "motorway", there are no 🚳🚷 signs, and it is not restricted access.

99219016

just because this feels like a motorway doesn't make it a motorway. There are no signs which say "motorway" and there are no signs that say "🚷🚳". It is also not restricted entry.

or has this changed in the past month? I doubt it has.

Unless you've got a source for this, I'm going to revert this edit. Please see highway=motorway for more information

do you have a source for this? I don't think this is correct

Hi, I've reverted this edit because these two segments of Jerrold Street North and Jerrold Street South are not a motorway.
Your edit breaks routing logic because if these segments of road were a motorway, there would be no way for walkers/cyclists to get on or off this road.

Brougham Street can't suddenly turn into a motorway or it would leave cyclists/walkers/horse riders stuck.

let me know if you've got questions

looks good 👍 addresses are often separate from buildings because they were bulk-imported separately, but it's more idiomatic to put the address on the house if it's obvious what belongs to what

hi, drawing sidewalks parallel to existing streets is only recommended if it's the standard for that region - see osm.wiki/Sidewalks#Regional_conventions

In Auckland/pretty much all of NZ, sidewalks aren't mapped as separate paths (yet?), so if you think this should be changed it probably warrants a discussion first.

If you want to add details about the sidewalk, residential roads are assumed to have sidewalks on both sides - if this is not the case, you can add `sidewalk=left|right|none` to the road (e.g. way/7633942)

Also, you added some paths that cross each other but don't join, and some that are disconnected from the rest of the road network. This makes them useless for routing/directions because the algorithm can't find a way to navigate between them.

the building name is signposted on-the-ground as Te Wharau o Tāmaki / Auckland House. It is the largest of many Auckland Council offices across the region.

I would suggest naming the building Wharau o Tāmaki / Auckland House like the other offices (e.g. way/380531534, relation/3774811, way/23906750)

If you think splitting the tags makes sense that sounds great. I'm not sure what the best way of tagging it is

98672689

the reason I put `name:mi=Te Wharau o Tāmaki` on the building is because that's the Te Reo name of this office, 'Te Kaunihera o Tāmaki Makaurau' is Te Reo Māori for Auckland Council (as an organisation).

so I think that tag was correct as it was? It's signposted near the low-rise elevators
