oh that explains the mystery, thanks !

yeah that roundabout is also using the unideal method , because it was presumably drawn before the new aerial imagery was published. so eventually someone will come past here and refine it

166626024

Hi, the way it was previously is the correct method of mapping roundabouts. If there is a physical barrier between both side of the road, then they should be mapped as two seperate oneway lines. there's some more info here: osm.wiki/Dual_carriageway

Hi, what's your source for this edit? I can't find any information online about this name https://google.co.nz/search?q="POWLAB"+nz

hey, these should probably be highway=track + access=private, otherwise GPS software will start telling people to drive thru these private farms

some more details here: highway=track

these roads are still open. it's a useful shortcut for walking/cycling to avoid this insane alternative route osm.org/directions?engine=graphhopper_bicycle&route=-33.925775%2C151.172084%3B-33.928343%2C151.167423#map=15/-33.92614/151.17595

Hi, did you survey these changes? specifically Nigel Love Bridge, it's still open as far as I can tell

Hi, your changeset comment doesn't match what you did in this edit. Could you please help me understand why you removed the name from the tunnel?

155050462

Hi, why did you delete the maintenance road? it definitely exists

154933377

hi, may I ask why you deleted the old Lilyvale Tunnel? it's still used by maintenance vehicles today, you can see it clearly from the train

hi, if there's a new address, could you please create a new point, instead of repurposing an existing point and dragging it far away? thanks !

Hi, what do you mean by inside out? As far as I can tell, this relation is correct.

If it's rendering strangely in the iD editor, that might be because it's not fully downloaded. This link will open the editor will the relation fully downloaded: osm.org/edit?relation=5134651

the tag was imported 14 years ago and has been unmaintained ever since. The data is pretty broken, and it's not clear who (if anyone) is using it. We should probably just do a bulk-removal

Similar examples listed here, such as "womo": osm.wiki/LINZ/Invented_Tags#Deprecated_Tags

oh sorry, i didn't notice that way/1372532705 was tagged differently to the rest. fixed now, thanks for noticing

you said "[...] whereas it is intuitive to go straight", but the road markings show that you can't do that. the ramp on the northern side of the road is oneway.

as a rule-abiding citizen, we should follow the road markings, rather than swerving across the road and going the wrong way up that ramp.

if the navigation instructions are unintuitive, you could try add these tags to the ramp segments:

cycleway=link
street:name=MacKenzie Avenue
name=MacKenzie Avenue

this makes it more clear that movement is not a left turn, but rather, a movement within the same road. Documentation here: cycleway=link and street:name=*

Hi, what source did you use for this business's location? This shop appears to be a supermarket, not a painter.

165261172

Hi, could you please explain a bit more about the problem that you're trying to solve? simply deleting the crossing is unlikely to be the best solution

165049106

Hi, this page describes the typical charactertics of a "Residential Road": highway=residential

For these private farm tracks, it would be more appropriate to mark them as "Track" or "Driveway"

awesome thanks :)

hey, thanks for your recent edits. I see you removed fireplace=yes, was this intentional? Just double checking because DOC says this hut has heating https://www.doc.govt.nz/parks-and-recreation/places-to-go/central-north-island/places/kaimanawa-forest-park/things-to-do/huts/waipakihi-hut/
