The wikipedia link in this way does not refer to this geographical object, but to person, and is therefore incorrect. A Wikipedia link must always refer to the specific geographical object. If you want to refer to a person, you have to use the tag "name:etymology:wikipedia" or "name:etymology:wikidata".

GeoNames is not an allowed source because of the license.

In this case the source is local knowledge and research.

In the case of Suq Mezian the Kabyle name is identical to Arabic except for the alphabet. Suq means market in Arabic and Mezian is an Algerian family name. The names of the banks are generic names all over Algeria. The street name is a typical name in the region.

In future I will add the source tag.

Hello,

1) The official gazette of Algeria publishes in Arabic. The French variant is only a translation from Arabic and is always marked with "traduction français" (French translation).

2) Regardless of your opinion of Echorouk - the street sign in the video is clearly. You removed a correct name, while adding wrong names. It seems, that you do not have much regional knowledge of the Bejaia region.

3) Why did you remove the Arabic names from the following nodes?

6467645891 (4 months ago)
6467722956 (4 months ago)
2065268150 (6 months ago)

I restored them manually, but removing names without explanation is vandalism for me.

With best regards.

Addition:

This is the correct video link (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4bfcEBfq3aw).

1.) You now also removed the Arabic name of Cap Carbon, which is Ra"s Karbon (رأس كربون) in the changeset/86412178. This is the official name, as you can see on the official street sign, for example in this YouTube video from the Algerian newspaper Echourouk (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4bfcEBfq3). The name "رأس كربون" is also found in the video title.

2) Tamazight/Kabyle is written with three scripts. With Latin, Tifinagh and Arabic script. Even the official Algerian Press service has an edition in Tamazigh with Arabic script (http://www.aps.dz/tamazight-arb/), so it is also vandalism if you remove these names.

Hello, changing the language of name tag without discussion or consent was forbidden by the Data Working Group. Please stick to the rules, otherwise I have to report it. With best regards.

The autocomplete function is sometimes faster than me - it should be now corrected.

Hello,

thank you for your quick response. Yes, the maps in Wikipedia and many maps all over the internet are still unchanged, because of this, it is not so easy the find that changes, so I can understand you. The image editing in Wikimedia is not my area, I will leave it to the experts there.

With best regards.

Hello,

The Wilaya Djanet is an independent wilaya since 2019-12-18 / 1441-04-21. It is no longer part of the wilaya of Illizi. Please make it correct again.

Hello,

you removed all Arabic names including the name:ar tag completly, you also removed Italian and Persian name tags with your edits. This is clear vandalism.

Please read the following wiki page, before you begin with further editing: osm.wiki/Vandalism

I will revert all of your changesets that include vandalism. Further vandalism will be reported to the Data Working Group (DWG).

Greetings.

The iD editor sometimes gives a warning if the "brand:wikipedia" is missing, but I will respect your note.
