flagging that this changeset broke the hallifax river estuary by changing it from natural=water to place=island. will be reverted soon.

Hello mustafakamil, Mariateresa. I'm crossposting this comment to changesets 100248648 and 96717934.

it looks like features way/912638031 and relation/12115924 are what is an area split in two by an arbitrary boundary of analysis. They were classified differently, however, on the imagery I don't see a clear boundary.

Is there a way in which you can improve your process so that seams like this one do not appear?

Thanks!

Hello, and thanks for the responses,

Can you please point me to the Kira map and its license you are using?

Separately, I understand from changeset/100976205 that you have used Google as a source for some previous edits?

Thank you for clarifications,
Lukasz (for the Data Working Group)

Hello testooools,

I see you joined the OpenStreetMap a month ago - welcome, we're glad to have you here!
Based on your changeset comments, I see you have been using various online mapping services. Please have a look at:
osm.wiki/FAQ#Why_can.27t_I_copy_data_from_Google_Maps.3F

OSM is public, open, and free, but can only remain so if we do not abuse data licenses which, as that would make us vulnerable to copyright claims.

We take this issue seriously. As there are not that many changesets you have created, may I request that you go through them, and flag if they used ANY external mapping service that does not explicitly permit OSM tracing. I'm afraid that these changesets will need to be reverted.

I hope this is clear, but please read through OSM wiki in case you have more questions or let me know directly. I hope you will stay with us as a mapper for many years.

Thanks
Lukasz (for the Data Working Group)

Hello,

I see in this and other changesets you added areas with a name "area to be digitised"

I'm sure you realise this is not what these places are really called - do you mind correcting (or indeed removing) the names, please?

Thank you, and let me know if you have any questions!!

Hi,
I believe you have put the name of the Synagogue (node/6395110285) in a language that is not predominant in this area.

Hi,
I believe you have put the main name tag in a language that is not predominant in the area on Al Kifl: node/2486199735

Hi there,
While I am impressed by the quality and detail of this tracing work, I can't help but wonder how useful it is. As you see, in the northwest of the reservoir there is a new dam, and the water level is rising. I am worried that whatever has been traced with such precision will become outdated very quickly as more and more water floods lower laying areas. I wonder if you have any thoughts on this?

Cheers!

Hi Giblet,

Will you be continuing to work on the buildings in this settlement?

Thanks!

Hi,

Is it really useful to have a single relation for all the camps? It seems a bit confusing to me.

cheers,

Nice edit, thanks

But if there is a bridge, there's no need to have a ford as well.

Also, the bridge sections could be connected into one feature.

I think he's putting all the relevant languages into the main name tag, but I can't find any online conversation or agreement about this. I'm also not receiving replies to direct messages.

Hi Andy, have you ever heard back from Mustafa?

Hi,

Are you sure this is a city, and not a school?

Thank you

Hello,

Thanks for the edits, and especially for including the source - it is very useful to do it!

Can I ask:

1) where does the place=subdistrict tag come from? I do not think it is an approved tag.
2) When you are mapping subdistricts, why are you using admin_level=6? osm.wiki/Template:Admin_level_10 shows that subdistricts are at admin_level=7

Thank you,

Hi Khashea7,
What is this feature please?

I'm pretty sure it is not a city under construction...
