Yeah, I think that's fine. Nobody really maintains a consistent history anyway.
If somebody really wanted to see what was there before, they'd use an Overpass Turbo query to get historical data.

I wouldn't necessarily delete address nodes, even if they duplicate information contained in the building.
Sometimes it makes it easier to tell the relative location of different entrances.
Using separate address nodes also allows you to tag individual features with values like "wheelchair=no".

Some places use separate address nodes, some just tie it to the building. AFAICT, there's no hard rule one way or the other.

There were a couple nodes with addresses you deleted (node/6726234885 and node/4624048553), which I undeleted in changeset/119522718.

When shops are permanently closed or vacant, it's usually better to tag the node as "disused:shop=yes" (see osm.org/wiki/Key:disused:shop) rather than delete the node, so we don't lose the address information. Marking shops as vacant this way also allows programs like StreetComplete to later ask people if the vacancy has been filled.

For the Pappy statue, I think you should probably use "subject:wikipedia" rather than "wikipedia", as the Wikipedia article is about the subject, not the statue itself.

Also, if the entire building is the social club, you can add the tags to the building rather than a separate node. But this isn't a big deal otherwise.

The tag "addr:street" should just be the name of the street, not the entire address. In this case it should be "addr:street=Ruger Street".

I'd suggest using the "wikimedia_commons" tag (wikimedia_commons=*) instead of "image" in this case, as it allows data consumers to download other metadata about the image.

The Walgreens on Mission Street
(node/418513656/history) had an address attached to it.
Is there just a vacant shop there?
Rather than deleting the entire node and losing the address information, you might consider using a disused:shop (disused:shop=*) tag so it can show up as a "Is this shop still vacant?" quest on StreetComplete.

Thanks for changing the outdated Ford GoBike stations in this changeset.
But, for these two flagpole nodes:

the "flag:wikidata" tag was changed to a generic US flag (https://wikidata.org/wiki/Q42537).
The names on these flags suggest they're specific flags: The Grand Union Flag (https://wikidata.org/wiki/Q2509336) and the Moltrie Flag (https://wikidata.org/wiki/Q6919069).
So these tags should probably be changed back.

What's the source of this change? I don't see a castle on this island on Bing aerial.
