Hi Sam - I check these via some Map Roulette challenges each month. https://maproulette.org/browse/challenges/4412 Its quite easy so its not a hassle as there is usually less than a dozen, per state, per month. It would be hard to script I reckon as there are so many ways that folks add the numbers. A group of us did a mass edit a couple of years ago when the numbers were in the 1,000's so now its just picking up new users or inadvertent slip ups.

Hi Ben - I have updated this for you. Best to have the extra details as description (rather than note). Some software will present description to users whilst note is generally a note for fellow mappers. I also updated the bridge between the sections of track. there is also no osm.wiki/Tag:'vehicle=' tag - its actually motor_vehicle.... which will usually be presented in the ID editor interface.
