What is here is actually a gently sloping set of stairs (not signposted that I could see), featuring short tarmac surfaces with steps of masonry in 1, 2 or even 3 steps at a time, down the slope from the cycleway. It meets the end of the actual The Ropery road at the end of the buildings, but there is no through access, instead the stairway takes a ninety degree turn left, becoming a short set of conventional steps (still masonry), turning the kink into a T (as per Google aerial). Footpaths connect the riverside cycleway to the road in between the gaps in the buildings (rows of housing) |
