While this is obviously a good faith edit, this section of road is *not* Interstate 45. That would be the motorway next to it, which already has the correct ref and which is already correctly named "North Freeway" for addressing purposes.

All of the frontage roads in the Houston area (and in some other places in Texas) are named this way for clarity. Navigation app users that hear "turn right onto Interstate 45" may well think they are on the freeway when they are not.

Hi,

Welcome to OpenStreetMap! For future additions please note the following:

1. "Country" is not a standard key.
2. opening_hours has a specific format intended to be both human- and machine-readable, which uses two-letter day abbreviations and 24-hour times. See wiki.openstreetmap.org/wiki/key:opening_hours for more details.
3. Best practice is to use international format on phone numbers and only the unit/suite number in addr:unit (as the current data contains.

What is your source for this? I've driven this section of Westheimer a lot recently and the way I see it, it's really not a primary road until west of I-610.

Hi,

Welcome to OpenStreetMap.

For future reference, when mapping address data the addr:housenumber tag should only contain the number, not the full address.

Hi,

In the future please remove placement tags when they no longer apply (such as on way/1059864025 when the lane count and lane use were changed). Thanks!

In the future, we would appreciate it if you would please use descriptive changeset comments. Every changeset has "amendments"; this by itself tells us nothing about what has been changed and why. Thanks!

Hi,

On the small chance this is a legitimately new mapper, welcome to OpenStreetMap. There are some issues with your edit, most of which have since been fixed; for future reference please note the following:

1. There is no point spamming hashtags on a changeset like this.
2. Addresses are not abbreviated on OpenStreetMap
3. opening_hours=* is not a free form text tag, it is intended to be both human- and machine-readable and has a specific syntax. See osm.wiki/wiki/key:opening_hours for details.
4. Phone numbers should be in international format i.e. phone=+1 713-555-5555

Hi,

In future edits please note the following:

description=* is *not* for advertising copy/puffery! That's why you have a website.

addr:street=* is only for the street name. The number goes in addr:housenumber=*.

opening_hours=* has a specific format intended to be machine-readable as well as human readable, it is not a free form text tag. Please see opening_hours=* for details.

I hid both of the spam comments. Let me know of any others.

Fixed, see changeset/140556052

No, I'm not sure how that happened.

Hi,

Please do not use name=* for entering full addresses. The appropriate key is addr:full=*. Thanks!

What is your data source for these names?

Please check for duplicates before adding future businesses. Also please use standard tagging next time. See: changeset/128533195 for proper tagging example.

Next time, please save the changeset and start a new one before making new edits so far away. These easily should be two separate changesets.

Hi,

It is completely unnecessary to create a new account for each new addition to the map. This is at least the sixth such account that I have seen (I haven't kept count).

If this is the same person/entity behind the other accounts, then you need to read *all* of these changeset comments:

changeset/123612496
changeset/125044254
changeset/125006110
changeset/124713946

In particular, opening_hours is using entirely the wrong format, the phone number is also in an incorrect format, and "Category" is not a standard tag. If these continue being added with obvious deficiencies and blatantly nonstandard tagging, you risk having them being deleted entirely as spam.

134584375

Also, "Added features in Houston area" is deceptive about the true nature of this changeset, as nothing is added, and the most notable edits it contains are deletions, not additions. Please be more careful with your changeset comments going forward.

134584375

Reverted as vandalism by changeset/137442758 as this changeset deleted a 7-Eleven which I know exists because I personally surveyed (and purchased from yesterday). Please do not assume that satellite/aerial imagery is always 100% up to date as it often is not.

Why was building=residential changed to building=yes on some buildings? Also, addr:country=US was removed on those same buildings for no apparent reason.
