Hi Tonushka,

I noticed that some features were deleted when they were no longer in use. In OpenStreetMap it’s usually preferred to keep such objects and mark them with the `disused:` (or sometimes `abandoned:`) prefix instead of deleting them outright.

Keeping the objects helps preserve the mapping history and can also be useful if the feature still physically exists but is simply not operating anymore.

So for example, instead of removing a shop that has closed, it is often better to change
`shop=...` → `disused:shop=...`.

Just wanted to mention this in case it’s helpful for future edits. Thanks for contributing to OSM!

Hi dpolovinkin,

I think this layer tag is used to describe the relative position of elements to others. In this case "layer=-1" means: "The steps and footpaths are on top (i.e. above) of the building". At least that is my understanding of the layer tag.

Hi Zenney,

I would say that 'highway=service' is not the right tag for motorcycle lanes. That's what the Wiki says: 'The highway=service tag denotes ways used for vehicle access to a building, parking lot, service station, business estate, beach'.

Either 'highway=cycleway' or 'path' are more appropriate I think.
