The railways you deleted were mapped or tagged as railway=abandoned. In my opinion this is correct and should not have been deleted. In the OSM project some users also map these abandoned railroad lines.

You can find some information here:
railway=abandoned

I think your changeset or at least the two big railroad lines should be restored.
