- to save the tourist a trip to check the religious services hours (but admittedly, no app I know of displays "disused")
- as orientation point (admittedly, in a seaside town it's not that much of a reference as in a mountain town like Atri, where historical buildings help quite a lot in routing by eye / by memory; but still.)
- historical interest, statistics analyses
