OK, I'd like to put things straight:
As you said, both solutions are acceptable. I have not "deleted" anything, in any case, on these objects.
Just transformed a line into points with sometimes additional elements such as name and/or direction. So in the end I didn't do anything "big stupidity".

I modified more than a hundred points. iD is not flexible enough to easily allow me to answer you, without spending a week there.

On https://taginfo.openstreetmap.org/tags/aeroway%3Dholding_position we see that there are more than 20,000 NODEs and only 600 WAYs.
hence my initial misunderstanding of iD's false positive.
It also shows that finally the community uses the NODEs in a more natural way.

on https://taginfo.openstreetmap.org/tags/aeroway%3Dholding_position#projects we also see some correspondence between the JOSM USER PRESET and iD. you should therefore also have an alert message on a WAY. (I don't know how to use JOSM. I tried: not at all flexible to use)

if other contributors are like you (a bit annoyed), which I understand, because it sometimes happens to see inexperienced or uninformed users make mistakes, please let them come to me, I'll tell them would explain the situation.
I sincerely regret having annoyed you, but we must put the gravity of things back on their scale.

Indeed, the previous discussion has clarified the situation.
I use iD, so no backtracking possible for me. The point makes it possible to define the direction of the marking, contrary to the line. In any case, as said before, the standard OSM display does not show these elements. a ticket is open on GitHub but not on this item.
In any case I suspended my mass modifications.

personally, I prefer the points which have the advantage of being associated with a direction, which is important for the readability of the diagram, and the direction of circulation.

effectivement ce centre est plus un centre Signalo, qu'un poste de commande d'aiguillage.
Malgré tout il contient des éléments qui servent a la circulation des trains, et peuvent être télécommandés.
mon but est double :
* faire apparaitre les centres signalo sur https://www.openrailwaymap.org/
* donner un nom apparent au N° de PN qui sont caché dans la jonction PN / Route "level_crossing" et n'apparait pas directement.
les street_cabinet pourraient répondre au besoin, mais ils n’apparaissent jamais sur ID, et encore moins sur la vision "carte de transport" de ID.
je suis conscient que je tord un peu le cou des paramètres pour répondre à un besoin de visibilité plus important sur ID et openrailwaymap pour ces centre signalo en campagne. Mais j'ai pas beaucoup d'autres options.
je me suis référé a la page man_made=street_cabinet#Street_cabinet_categories qui parle bien des armoires fibre optique, circulation routière et Tram, mais pas ferroviaire.

Qu'en pensez vous ? (je suis preneur d'autres solutions)

en fait, j'en trouve un peut partout, les mêmes erreurs sur les ligne HTA.
Pourtant avec iD c'est plus rare ce genre d'erreur qu'avec JOSM.

well, i didnt know about this ID auto-setting / suggestion error.
suggestion is realy a good tools help me to update quickly.

I therefore encourage you to persevere in this bug correction, but given the number of golf courses I have done around the world, there is a big correction to be made after the bug has been fixed.

hello, I am only using the ID auto-correction to complete an error box. And when I remove the "grass" elements from a "green" for example, it automatically puts them back to me. test it to see / understand if you want.
