The bridge is currently barriered off and inaccessible due to severe weather damage and weakening several months ago. There are signs warning of this further back along the track, but are easily missed given the amount of people still arriving at the bridge. As the required remedial work is extensive, it might be a long time before any repairs are started, if ever?
