I have a keen interest in maps - I like how they can tell stories about the world and I admire their capabilities to inform issues and raise awareness. My interest in maps was first piqued in May 2017, when I attended a five-week internship at the Curriculum Planning and Development Division of the Ministry of Education, Singapore, and experimented with various technologies in Geography. During this time, I gained a basic understanding of how I could use maps to make geography lessons more authentic, interactive and engaging for local students. It also inspired me to think about ways to harness the power of maps to make connections between local, regional and global issues. I find Open Street Map a good way to start my journey and I am looking forward to learn more.
