The osm and other maps I have seen all show Goonyella Rd starts in the Moranbah township and goes out to the northwest and the road past the airport is Moranbah Access Rd. If that is incorrect and the road to or past the airport is signed Goonyella Road can you correct it thanks.

I think the wiki is quite specific in that you should be using multipolygons instead of boundary relations for such natural areas.
As you seem to disagree with this premise I think you should raise the issue on the talk mailing list so that it can be discussed and sorted out. There maybe no consensus on the issue I expect, but it is worth having discussing due to the large amount of mapping you are doing and the fact that others predominantly map differently.
I don’t know how rendering or other processing is affected but it may be I guess.
It is certainly an interesting topic to discuss with the community.

I am not local to the area but none of it seems to resemble the real situation in the area from imagery that I can access.
Do you realise this is a real world map?
Would you time be better spent editing this fantasy map?

Please do not connect the scrub areas to the road network. It is incorrect to join the scrub to the roadway centreline. The natural areas like this end at the side of the road. The wiki has advice on mapping such areas correctly.

footway=sidewalk used on the trunk road South Road seems incorrect as it to be used on separately mapped footways or paths.

sidewalk=left|right|both is the correct method if tags are added to the trunk road and the footways are not yet mapped separately.

another mapper seems to have accidentally reverted your correction.
I have sent him a message and I also now feel that the sidewalk tag may be better.
Even better would be to map them separately as footways I guess but I'll leave that judgement to local mappers.

There seem to be these two similar methods to tag footways that are next to the road:
footway=sidewalk
and sidewalk=*

footway=sidewalk

sidewalk=*

I think the better method would be the sidewalk=left|right|both method.

The wiki says
"Use footway=sidewalk along with highway=footway to tag sidewalks" so this would usually be used when seperate footway are mapped I think, but wiki also says "footway=sidewalk is also sometimes used with other highway=* values" so is a bit confusing

...and they can also be mapped separately as footways.

you appear to have changed South Road unnecessarily based on an out of date cached view of the map.
@awamartin corrected South Road to add footway=sidewalk as he had previously incorrectly added foot=yes.
You appear to have changed it back to the incorrect tagging.
I think it is best if I revert your changeset so it goes back to the correct tagging.
The Tor browser is often a good one to use to check for the latest standard layer of the osm.org map version as the secure networks are unlikely to have as much cache as common browsers.

This now seems ok.
I added sport =shooting + shooting=clay_target
but I notice sport=shooting
suggests clay_pidgeon but I think clay_target is better and used by the Australian association https://www.claytarget.com.au/
