Hi, I'm not sure what about your editing style is causing this, but I've noticed a number of times where your edits caused duplicate/overlapping nodes. For example, see OSM Inspector: http://tinyurl.com/mw929x82 Would you be able to take a look at the highlighted areas and fix the issues? Happy mapping!

Hi, opening hours generally have both an opening and closing time--if you noticed it could you add? More info on opening hours syntax here: opening_hours=*

Hi, I'm wondering if this development is completed, under construction, or proposed? The way it's currently tagged makes it look like it's completed but the pdfs make it look like it's planned/proposed. See proposed=* if construction hasn't started yet, or construction=* if construction has started.

Hi, in response to your note, couldn't you just include separate values for "owner" and "operator"? Also, I noticed you tagging "access=yes" on these parks. While that isn't wrong, access is typically only tagged on leisure features when there's a restriction. YMMV though. Happy mapping!

Hi, I noticed the construction area you added in this changeset is "glued" to surrounding paths. Wanted to make you aware it's usually recommended to not do this as 1) it's not strictly accurate and 2) also makes future editing more complex. For example, see Ailesbury Park on the other side of Abbeyfield Avenue. Thanks for your consideration and happy mapping!

Hi, it would be helpful if you also added appropriate tags for the businesses you are adding. For example, this Holiday gas station would be amenity=fuel. Thanks

Welcome to OpenStreetMap! I noticed on these buildings you tagged them both with the same house number--can you check that and update the incorrect one? Also, convention in OSM is to capitalize the street type ("Avenue") so if you could also fix that it'd be great. Happy mapping!

It appears this edit is changing the Grand Rounds tagging from rcn (regional) to ncn (national) cycle network. Given the Grand Rounds are fully within Minneapolis, this doesn't make much sense to me and doesn't match the descriptions on osm.wiki/United_States/Bicycle_Networks for either national or quasi-national networks. Some of the Grand Rounds are part of the Mississippi River Trail, which is definitely an ncn, but that's a different relation. Wonder what your rationale is, or if you'd consider changing it back. (side note: looking through the history, it was stevea--who does a ton of bike route tagging on OSM--that changed the tag to rcn in 2019)

Hi, and welcome to OpenStreetMap! Thanks for adding more detail to the Carlton Artist Loft buildings. It'd be better, though, for B & C to create a separate area for each of those and have the info (name, levels) be specific to each one. If you are able/willing to do that, it'd be great. Otherwise I might be able to. Would just need to confirm if B is further to the west than C, or vice versa. Happy mapping!

I don't know who your local user is, but most locals I know (including me) use "South" on all of the N-S streets in south Minneapolis.

Honest question: how does having four separate traffic signals, one facing each way, improve over having one central traffic signal which applies to all ways?

Hi, I noticed you've been splitting out individual tennis courts from a larger pitch which covers the whole area. This added detail seems useful! However, that larger area often aligns with the fencing that commonly surrounds the courts. Wonder if you'd consider retagging that outer way (for example barrier=fence, maybe with an entrance point if it's evident) instead of getting rid of it as you do these edits. Happy mapping!

Hi, just wanted to let you know that amenity=fitness_station is a deprecated tag. The correct tag is leisure=fitness_station osm.wiki/Tag%3Aleisure%3Dfitness_station Hope you can adjust these. Happy mapping!

Hi, I'm curious what the rationale is for moving the business tags from the building ways to separate points? For Home Depot and Target at least, the entire structure is used by a single business.

Happened to notice a typo in this changeset: sidewalk=booth instead of sidewalk=both :)

Hi, I noticed some instances where the landuse areas you drew overlapped roadways, seemingly just to connect to other landuse areas. When doing this kind of detailed mapping, I think it's best practice to not include adjacent roads, and limit the landuse areas to the actual footprint. It's discussed on the wiki here: osm.wiki/Land_use#Mapping_land_use_in_more_detail Happy mapping!

Hi, I appreciate your efforts at adding indigenous place names. However, in this changeset you have not included a source. I see this has been brought up before in other changesets, so I ask again can you please make it a practice to include your sources for every changeset? If this is important enough for you to put all this work into, I would think it's important enough to take the time to properly document sources to help users in the future.

You have added names for many languages in many regions, so I assume these are not merely your personal knowledge. From the outside this looks like an effort at extracting names from online sources and putting them into OSM without any interaction with native speakers. I hope in the future you will consider making an effort to connect with indigenous communities so they can add their own names. If I am misunderstanding your project, though, I'd be happy to learn more.

There is also an indigenous-mapping channel in the OSM US slack if you'd want to join the discussion there.

Happy mapping!

Welcome to OSM and thanks for adding to the map! The tagging on this Speedway is a little funny so thought I'd let you know: 1) the canopy over the gas pumps is tagged building=roof, so there's no need to put that description in the name field, 2) the amenity=fuel tag is on the convenience store here, but should either be a node under the canopy or tagged on the canopy way, 3) the Speedway building isn't displaying on the map because it's not tagged as a building. Would also recommend replacing amenity=fuel with shop=convenience on the building outline. More info on fuel pump tagging is on the wiki: amenity=fuel (also convenience stores: shop=convenience) Hope this helps you get used to some of the complexities of tagging. Happy mapping!

Welcome to OpenStreetMap, and thanks for making this update. Do you know if the parking areas have also been removed? Although the street is gone from OSM the parking is still there... Happy mapping!

Hi, I noticed the series of these edits you did in this area, thanks for looking at the overlaps. I wonder if in the future as you do similar fixes, you could consider keeping the essential geometry, rather than over-simplifying it as you fix the overlap. In many of these, the original geometry would've made it easy to add additional detail, like where the actual curb cut/tactile paving is, and which ways are sidewalk vs crossing. Thanks for your consideration!
