I have just received a private message from someone from NPWS. In summary, NPWS has officially closed the track, don't add it again. (There was nothing on the ground at survey to indicate it was a closed track.) If it is genuinely closed, then access=discouraged may be best changed to access=no, or possibly use the 'disused:' prefix. My edit had been discussed on the mailing list prior to reversion - I'll send a note back to the mailing list for further discussion.

Can you provide some more info on this (as there are edits all over NSW based on information provided to you). How is the information provided? Is the information coming to you directly, or are you working for a company? Is this information being checked prior to uploading? Thanks.

Regarding way/234876550 - I know your edit was a while ago, but can you confirm the current maxspeed? The reason I ask is that there is a user (possibly from overseas) maxing maxspeed changes from 'NSW Speed data', but there have been multiple problems with that user's edits from this data. Mapillary from 2020 had maxspeed 60, but DCS imagery has maxspeed 50 (not sure of date). Previous maxspeed had been added in Dec. 2023. Has this been checked by survey?

The track is not formally closed.

The actual reversion was delayed as there was the possibility of NPWS joining the discussion on the list, but unfortunately this never eventuated.

Just checking on the source for the maxspeed change - the maxspeed 60 seems to extend an unusually long distance from Talwood. Mapillary images from September 2023 show a temporary 60 zone for roadworks - is this what you saw?

Just wondering what the "NSW Speed data" source is? I've recently been through here, and The Lakes Way is still maxspeed 80 (not 100). I didn't check Old Soldier's Road on my recent trip, but on Google Street View, it's maxspeed is still 90 (not 100).

I've just sent an email to the talk-au mailing list to get a consensus on this. way/29415025 was overgrown at my 2022 survey, so it's quite likely gone by now. The other three ways (29415022, 630040313, 1052666246) were present on the ground in 2022.
