I have read the discussion at:

about the low quality level of your import.
An import that is not according the OSM guidelines.
Also you are using very limited changeset comments:
"Mapping ....." is what you tell us, but that is exactly what all mappers do!
Can you be much more specific about WHAT you are mapping?

The sym=Dot tag is a leftover from a Garmin GPX track that obviously was used to import that data into OSM.
In the early OSM days Garmin GPX track were often used to import data that was perfectly legal because it was collected by the mappers themselves. We simply cannot tell what other (possibly illegal) sources were used 10 years ago.

Another user was active around that area and I have asked them (today) for a possible explanation of that naming.

Maar dat (description vs name mbt amenity=townhall) is in de rest van de OSM wereld nog niet doorgedrongen en dat zal het ook niet meer doen.
Het gaat niet om "ik heb gelijk - jij hebt gelijk", maar om de consensus die er bestaat als het over dit onderdeel van het taggen gaat. Klaarblijkelijk vindt 95% van de mappers het normaal en nuttig om bij amenity=townhall ook de name=* te gebruiken.

Als jij het daar niet mee eens bent, staat het je vrij om hier:

een discussie over dat punt te beginnen.
Het helpt weinig om hier steeds maar weer je "gelijk" te bepleiten terwijl er 5 mensen zijn (nou goed, misschien 10) die deze discussie volgen.
Maar als je werkelijk iets wilt bereiken waar iedereen wat aan heeft, dan begin je dus die discussie op het eerder genoemde forum. En ik beloof je wat:
als jij het niet doet zal ik (nadat ik verhuisd ben volgende week) het zelf doen, maar dan verwacht ik wel dat jij ook je stem daar laat horen.

(En wat voor een schandalige behandeling heb je dan gekregen als ik vragen mag?)
