| 4855531 | During a hike on July 10th, 2025, I followed this path segment (between Alpe Unter- and Obergelchenwang, near Balderschwang), which is currently marked as a hiking route in some apps. However, the trail was difficult to find on site and did not appear to be clearly marked. The path led directly through a pasture with cattle, which is not unusual in alpine regions – but in this case, the animals were noticeably unsettled. Several cows were alert, moved quickly, and kicked out with their hind legs. The situation felt potentially dangerous. I would advise against entering this section and suggest reconsidering whether this is a suitable route to be marked as a hiking trail – especially with regard to less experienced hikers, families, or people with dogs. |
